What happened to Star firearms?

I own a Star PD .45, and still carry it at times. It is very reliable. In fact, it's the ONLY single action, govt style semi-auto .45 I've never been able to jam, no matter what kind of ammo I stuff n the magazine.

There were some quality control problems when Garcia was importing them to the U.S., but when Interarms took over the importing, the Q.C. problem was solved. Mine is an Interarms import. I also have seven factory magazines for it.

I've never felt "undergunnned" when carrying it.

FWIW. J.B.

About the only Star I ever had any interest in was a PD, and I was about to get one when a couple of acquaintences told me about problems with the model. Made me just leery enough that I decided to get something that was felt to be a little more bullet proof. They were probably talking about the Garcia guns, but this one was Interarms stamped.

Now that I'm here, however, I see what PD owners think about them, and I wish I had spent the money.

Railroader,

Ok, thanks. I see what you mean. The correct answer is that Firestorm is the US importer for both brands.

Remember this boards are read by a lot of people from all over.
