What handgun do you shoot the most.

...Like to shoot 1911's but don't own one, so I am only able to shoot those of friends. If I did own one, probably wouldn't shoot it as often because of the cost of .45 ammo...

That seems to be the general theme of late for sure. I love JMB's ingenious 1911 so I went out and bought a 1911 22 so I could shoot whenever I want absent the costs of burning through .45 ACP ammo. Obviously not the same but the next best thing.

Every time I shoot, no matter what else I am shooting, I ALWAYS shoot my Springfield Loaded 1911 .45 acp. I always load up 4 or more magazines to practice my self defense shootin.

Funny thing is I don't even think about the cost of the ammunition. To me this is one of my hobbies and the cost is mostly irrelevant.

I hear that--A man has got to have something to divert his or her mind away from the seemingly ever-increasing day-to-day stresses of life. I did some skeet shooting over this past Memorial Day weekend and it was much more therapeutic and effective than any $200 per hour shrink could ever be ;) . My advice, toss the meds and buy ammo!

i always take one of my beretta 92's with me and it usually is the one I have owned the longest and done the most work to.. my ruger 22/45 also gets brought because blowing a couple hundred rounds down range with that and chewing out the center of a target is just fun!

Cap and ball revolvers!

my Black Powder revolvers, next my Single Six (in .22LR) and last my .357 Vaquero (with .38 Special ammo).
The reason I got into Black powder was to slow doen and enjoy shooting more. With my LLama Especial .45ACP I used to just pout through the ammo and even though I was having fun, it was costing a fortune, WHen the .45 wore out (literally!) I went to the Single Six and found that I was not only saving on ammo but I'd slowed down and started handling my revolver a lot more(with reloading) and enjoyed the gun handling a lot!
WHen I ordered the Vaquero it was SHot Show time and end of the year inventory time so I had to wait up to 4 weeks for shipping then I had to do the Calif waiting period thing... SO in the mean time I was looking at a Cabela's catalog and thought why not give Black Powder a try???
I bought a Colt replica and then I really got into "Gun Fondling"! You had to do everything while handling the revolver while loading! WHat fun plus again, I slowde ammo consumption down. Yes BP costs about the same per shot as the .38 Special does, but you shoot it at about 1/4 of the speed that you shoot S/A revolvers and you get a lot more gun handling in on top of that!
This is why I shoot Black Powder Revolvers the most!

what handgun do you shoot the most

Right now it's a Pietta with howell conversion in .38spl. Usually it's what ever handgun is newest. Although, .38 special hollow base wad-cutters are a lot cheaper than .45 colt, so it might continue to be most used gun I have. I got a Model 60 .22 rifle, but since I shoot at home [acerage] I don't want a round that goes too far. I don't want to hit one of my neighbors dairy cows 2 miles down the road. I also shoot my Mini-14 a lot but the noise dictates that my wife and daughter can't be home as they will complain! Plus, I gotta make sure it's got a backstop. No shooting squirrels in a tree!
