Assume for a moment I wanted to store a gun in my master bathroom. It happens to be the quasi-safe room in our house. What type & finish is best -- assume that it would be exposed to the elements (i.e. daily steam from the shower, etc.). On a second level, if leaving it fully exposed is too much, what minimal protection would you add?

One of my few uses for stainless steel

In reality, I keep my old model 10 in there. I regularly clean and coat it with WD40 (external only). The finish was spotty when it came in.

I haven't broken down and bought a stainless gun yet. I might consider it for my bathroom gun, but it's pretty low down the list.

One or the other of my Glocks sits on top of the medicine cabinet one step from the shower whenever I'm taking a shower. Even though there ends up being alot of condensation on the mirror I have never had a speck of corrosion on my Glocks.

LOL I keep a old H&R 32 S&WL Blued in a sandwich bag. And my wife calls me crazy wait till I show her this..:D And I keep one in the kitchen cabinet too, never know where it might go down lol:p

Industrial hard chromed revolver would be best.

zip-locked Hi-point in the toilet tank. For most the restroom is an obvious place to retreat if your house is invaded due to the layout. This makes it a good place to keep a firearm of some sort. It is also the most likely place you are able to be alone if you suffer a home invasion and our taken hostage. An attacker may even just throw you in there. No one should be looking in your toilet tank.

I have a safe in my powder bathroom and I keep a Glock 33 inside of it. Glocks handle the elements very well, and if it ever does show negative effects I can just throw it away and get another one...it's just a Glock after all. :D

G19 with lacquer sealed ammo.
I am such an idiot, I never would have though about the condesation effecting the ammo!
as far as the glock in the shrink rapped bag you need a (ceramic) knife hanging next to it, or some sharp teeth!:)
also are you sure you have enough ammo?

A disposable C9 HiPoint! Pot Metal doesn't rust. If it ever fails, ya get a new one free. Perfect solution!

LOL
I can't believe that I am saying this, but Hi-Point's life time warranty & pot metal frame is perfect for this~:D
