What does "Well Armed" mean to you?

I like to have at least a handgun and a longarm, somtimes I even add a 2nd handgun. I am not talking CCW here ;)


If I am carrying a Bolt rifle then I like to have at least one auto with me just in case.

If I have a semi auto rifle then it is less of a concern to me.

I think a 1911 or G 34 goes well with either my Scout or a M1a.

If I am carrying just one handgun I would prefer a 45 auto, but if I am carrying two I think the 44 mag and 9mm compliment each other well.

Though I have also started considering a Lt Wt. Comander with a Ruger Bisley in 45 LC as a good combination for hiking and such.
 
Kinda like in the movie Tremors where the couple in the cellar have a wall filled with guns. "Which gun should I use, dear?"

Tremors was a GREAT movie! I have it on tape but now I want the DVD! Hell, the gun nuts won out and even the NON gun nuts had guns!
 
Hoohahaha! and I thought I was the only one who loved Tremors.

I would love to have these:

1.Browning BDL,Bolt Action Rifle in .308 + 2 spare mags + 50 rounds in Stripper clips(if thats possible)

2.HK MP5 A5 + 6 spare mags.

3.CZ 75B Pistol + 4 mags.

4.Combat/Survival Knife.

As a second option I could substitute 2,3 with the Beretta 93 Selectfire Pistol + 6 mags(a significant weight savings)

To be more realistic:
1. A Lee Enfield Mk IV + 2 mags and 50 Rounds in stripper clips.
2.CZ 75B + 6 15 rd mags.
 
I don't know. I've gotten down to about 10 handguns and 20 long guns and I'm beginning to feel under armed again!

To the point, you can be extremely well armed with one rifle. You can be virtually unarmed with 20 guns ;)

"Well armed", to me, means having one or more weapons you can shoot well, with plenty of ammo. That's the general principle, the specifics are a Ruger Mini-14 with half a dozen full 20 round mags, a 9mm Ruger P95 with three hicaps, and a S&W Model 19 .357 with a couple of HKS speedloaders, all handy for immediate use on Mister Housebreaker.

Maybe that's not enough -- I've been thinking about adding a 12 gauge to the mix. That would give my wife and me one long gun and one handgun each. Guns are like money -- no such thing as too much.
 
Well armed?

Situational awareness & the will to take action as necessity dictates.

After that, just about any ol' gun'll do.
'Course, some are "better'n" others ....

For ccw it means my Glock 30 IWB, my Glock 27 in an ankle holster, and my Kel-tec p32 in my pocket - with spare mags for all! :)
 
Very Heavly armed, My HK91 (G3 preferred, like you woulnd't guess) at least ten spare mags, my Vang Comp 870 fore close encounters with 25 rounds 3" OO buck and 10 or 15 rounds of 3" slug and my Colt 1911 with 5 mags total.

Lightly armed, an M-16 with ten spare mags and my Colt 1911 with 5 mags total.

To reiterate what others have said, "well-armed" means having the means and ability to defend oneself. It's not about quantity, in other words.

well armed - "it is the hard heart that kills" Know your weapon, practice practice practice.

Armed for bear - 30-06 with 8 rounds and a 44 mag vaquero with 24 rounds (hunting rig)

Girded for war - Going to the range with Coinneach and Morgan ;)

Hedgehogging - actually carrying more than one long arm and a brace of pistols. You neeed a cowboy cart to haul all that crap around.
