They do not have cast zinc receivers.
On the rimfires the actual internal receiver, or frame, that you don't see is steel. The cover that you do see on the outside is Brasslite.
On the centerfires, the receivers are a bronze alloy.

A friend of mine has a Henry .22 Gold Boy. He loves it, has no complaints about it. I've shot it and it is a neat little shooter. i have a Marlin .30-.30 upstairs that i have no complaints about. I guess it's all in what you want, really.
Actually on the "blued" 22lr it is a zinc reciever I know for a fact that the H001 model has a zinc reciever. The paint chipped off mine in a few spots and it sure looks to be some kind of alloy. But yes the brass reciver ones arent zinc.
You shouldn't have to think too long about a Marlin 336 in 30-30...Never had a problem with it...Very accurate...Easy to clean...Just unscrew and drop the lever and the bolt slides out.
I had a Navy Arms Henry long before 'dances with wolves' came out and I loved it...if you saw the movie and knew what to look for...kevin cosner's henry was never loades...
I have no interest in them as a engraver and know many engravers who will not touch a Henry rifle. The recievers are of something other than brass or steel a real mess to try and engrave.
I have shot and ungodly number of rabbits with my .22 Henry at the ranch. But I also have a marlin .45-70 and it is a completely different gun that serves a different purpose
