What do Mulder and Scully carry?

Nothing useful. They always get hit on the head and lose their guns. Who watches x-file now days? It's old and outdated.

Just about everything. Currently, they carry the Sig 228, its been referred to numerous times in the show (skinner also carries one). Ive also seen Sig 230, Beretta 92, Glocks, S&W autos (not sure if they really were 1076's like the FBI was issued years ago) and a PPK variant (mulder as a backup).

Sigs last time I watched. Original and fresh show. Old and outdated? Isn't it funny how fast we get used to the unimaginable.
Here's my $0.02 worth ... From what I can tell (the show is always dark), it appears that Mulder carries a Sig 228 and Scully carries a Sig 239. I also remember seeing Glocks on the show (don't recall which models) but I don't ever remember seeing either Mulder or Scully with a Beretta -- although it might have been on one of the shows that I've missed since the little one came along.

The shows creator, Chris Carter, has had them carry whatever the current FBI issue gun happens to be. When the FBI carried Glocks, so did Mulder and Scully. The FBI is currently issuing P228s, so that's what Mulder and Scully carry. Scully carries a P239 because that is an FBI approved alternate.

Mulder has carried (in order I believe) a Sig 226, a Glock (probably 19), a S&W 5906, a Sig 228, and a Walther PPK as a backup.
Scully started with a Sig 230, then Glock, then 5905, then 228 (her current weapon). She's also used a PPK on occasion.
The show only matched the Bureau when the agents carried Sigs. Scully and Mulder carried Glocks when the FBI didn't authorize them, and now that the Bureau issues Glocks, Scully and Mulder are back to Sigs.
By the way, the second "Deep Throat" carried a Sig 229 .40. There's a great line of dialogue when he explains what it is and what it will do as he threatens to kill Mulder.

buzz_knox is the closest to being absolutely correct.Everything he said about Mulder is correct except that he currently carries a 226.
As for Scully, in between the 5906 and her current 228, she carried a 225. If you look closely at shows from a couple of seasons back, you can see the prominent squared and hooked trigger guard of the 225 as opposed to the rounded trigger guard of the 228.
And, maybe I'm missing something, guys, but I have NEVER seen either one of them with a 239.

I noticed they currently carry SIGs and that they used to carry Glocks. I didn't know, however, they carry whatever the FBI currently issues (in real life). Nice touch.
buzz, Parabellum, blades67, I am duly impressed, but a little bit scared. How many viewing hours were spent gathering this Knowledge (picture ESPN's Stringball of Knowledge). 
Anyway, I can see how you might recognize Scully's gun, but I don't think I've ever seen a show where Mulder didn't drop his at least once, and usually every time he whips it out.
Although I consider Scully almost perfect, I agree with Mylhouse's last observation. Then she could carry an extra 1911 in her "ultra-concealed" holster.

Hi guys, I just wanted to tell you sometime back I ran into a web site insanely dedicated to the show. Those folks not only new the issues carried but also the underware worn. There was a short message board with a debate about the handguns the characters used. Everybody agreed it was 239 for Scully, 228 for Mulder. The actual debate was about the caliber of Scully's 239.

Emin, the people on that board may be authorities on the X-Files, but they know ZERO about pistols. 239, huh? Wow, I didn't know a 239 looked EXACTLY like a 228!!!!

i never saw them carrying any glocks and i've been watching it for a while. they always seem to have a sig of some sort. mulder usually has a 226 recently and scully has what looks like a 228 (it could be a 239 but i don't think so) i think it's a 228 since if you notice on a 239 it has the slide serations only on the bottom half of the slide (like the 229) the 228 has them all the way to the top of the slide and when the show a good shot of her gun they are the whole height of the slide.
skiner used to carry a stainless compact S&W but i haven't seen him draw his gun in a while. i have sunday's on tape and will watch it probably today and if they draw something different than i said i'll be back.
