I'm 21 years old, and have purchased four guns so far. Each has been over 600 bucks.

Glock 21 with factory Meps - 650 I think (sold it)
USP9 - 650
USP45 - 750
Ruger 10/22, lots of upgrades - about 650

I don't have bills yet (real lucky), so all my money can go towards savings and new toys.

I would like to sell the 10/22 and get another Glock, or maybe a Beretta.

I own three weapons and have only been shooting since 10/2001, when I took my CCW class.

First gun Ruger p-95 blue $249 including tax after $40 rebate and Davidsons $15 off survey coupon

Second Gun Ruger p-97 blue $295 including tax after ebate and coupon as above.

Taurus 85 38spc steel body blue used at gun show for $190 inc tax.

I am 48 years old and would consider all primary carry since it depends on what I'm wearing, weather and type of crowds I may encounter I prefer the 38 spc at the mall but like the 45 and 9 when out in the desert.

All are dependable, economic, good shooters. three dependable guns for less than $750....Do I get the smart shopper award??? :)

I'm 25, I think I'm over the "Cheap gun" Phase. I carry either a P99, Browning Hi-Power or a Springfield "Loaded 1911".
My only "Cheap" gun is a P32.But I only use that when I don't have a "Gun" on me.

Only 24. . .any my primary handgun was well under $500. . .but I have a relative that can get me just about anything at dealer cost :D

So I can get a heck of a handgun for under $500. . .

I was STUPID...

...and didn't shop around!!!

I paid over $800.00 for a Sig P226 (2-tone, 9mm) at a store front dealer. DUH!!! Had I been smart and asked the knowledgable folks here @ TFL, I would have done much better.

Since then, I have purchaced all of my firearms from Auction Arms, or other sources online. I have picked up some premium weapons for great prices.

Examples:

1. Sig P225 NIB------$425.00

2. S&W 4506 NIB----$390.00

While I would love to purchace all of my guns from a local dealer, low prices, and the great service I have recieved from my FFL transfer rep., I will continue to purchace from online sources (NIB only).

My Glock 32 was $600. My 1066 was under $400. My Mountain Gun was $501, out the door. My 1911 was $421. My GP-100 was $300 even. Got a Taurus 82 for $99. Police Service Six for $175. The Taurus Tracker .41 mag was $369.

All qualify as primaries. All but one were $500 and below. I'm 34.

I just can't seem to justify more than $500 for any handgun that's not an antique. The Glock was an exception, as I inherited a .40 cal barrel for free, which is worth $140. Naturally I HAD to buy a gun to go with it. Dang thing was brand new. I usually buy used guns, mostly by virtue of the antiques, which generally have had a few previous owners.

HandGuns

A few years ago, when i hit the legal age mark to buy a handgun. My first pistol was a Glock 19 NIB paid $390. Over the years, i have bought the following , I'm 25 now.

Glock 26 NIB - $485
Sig p228 NIB - $575
HK p7m8 NIB - $1,522 incl. tax

*8*

1 Glock 17 $529.00
2 Glock hicaps $180.00
1 50 round box of Gold Dots $14.99

1 S&W Sigma 40VE $319.00
2 S&W hicaps $120.00
2 boxes Triton ammo $30.00

I only carry the Glock sometimes. My primary gun is the Sigma, I have over 4000 rounds through it and trust my life to it.

Can you have TWO primary CCW's??

Bought my P32 for $249 about 2 1/2 years ago when they could not be found and bought my taurus M85 ultralite for $272 a few months ago. I am highly satisfied with both of them. Good guns for self-defense can be had for less than you think. After all, ya gotta have holsters, ammo, range time, and cleaning accessories too.

Well my BHP was under $500 new in 1994 and is one of my primary guns. The P7M8 was well over $500 and is another pirmary gun. Depends on the situation and season.

59, under $500.00, a pert near mil-spec Norinco (or 3) 1911. Works every time , shoots better than I can hold it and what more can you ask than that?
