Thanks to rvb and jriggs for the tip about the spring loaded safety. I tried it at the dealer and it helps a lot. I am getting to like the pice more but I do'nt think the safety is as ergonomic as the thumb safety on a 1911. Also the grip is fatter but I could get used to it with training I think. Cal.

I carry a beretta 96 G. this gun has a decocking lever and no saftey. We issue level three holsters. I feel this is a good combination,my dept only shoot twice a year .Having a safety lever is just another skill you have to master. You have to remmember to take it off as you come out of the holster. You also ahve to remember to flip the lever up when doing malfunction drills. Most shooter accidently apply the saftey when racking the slide back. If you practice alot then go for the safety, if not get a g or a d

I carry my Beretta Model 92 First Series cocked and locked. This earliest version of the 92 still had the frame mounted safety and a step down contoured slide.I look at it this way,The scumbag may have been delt a sorry lot in Life, but as a final irony,Death came from a fine classic world-class firearm.:D
