What cartridges would you like to see leverguns chambered for?

.357 Maximum

Even though there were rumours at the last SHOT show about Winchester coming out with a Model 94 in that caliber...

Another vote for the .357 Maximum. It's one of those cartridges whose potential has never really been developed by the gun industry.
Take Care

cartridges in leverguns

I'd like to see Winchester chamber their 16" barrel Trapper/Ranger in 10mm Auto. They hold 9 rds in .357 & 44 Mag, so you'd get 10 easy with the 10mm.

With a 20" barrel, something like their Model 94 "Trails End" holds 11 rds of 44 mag, so you could probably pack in a Baker's Dozen in 10mm.

I'd be excited to see Winchester or Marlin exploit the ballistics of the 10mm out of a carbine/short rifle length tube.

Don't know if you could shoot 40 S&W out of it too, but then, except possibly for cost, why would you want to?

Bring back the mod. 71 Winchester but chamber it in 358 cal. instead of 348 so bullets would be more plentyful but keep the 348 case, just neck it up to 358.

Bring back the steel frame Browning BLR in 358 and add the 350Rem. mag. to the list.

Mod. 95 in 405Win and 35Whelan.

And while we are doing it, for hevens sake leave the g*&D#@ crossbolt and other added safeties off.

.50 Alaskan and some type of useable longer range round .338 or something like it. HAve any of you guys ever messed with a Sako finnbear in .308. Smoothest most accurate lever gun I've ever messed with. Like to see some thing like it brought out in some neat calibers. And if'n your thinking a BLR is close to a Finnbear I'd have to disagree with you on that one.

475 Linebaugh, 500 Linebaugh, and 500 Linebaugh Long (for those who want something more than that wussy regular 500 Linebaugh).

MP-44 got it right! .405 Winchester! And just today I saw an article where Hornady is making new ammo and Winchester/Brwoning will be making a run of 1895's in .405. TR's "Big Medicine". After all if it was good enough for our BEST president, I will give it a try.

:D

A favorite topic of mine...

In a lever action rifle?

.45 ACP

.45 Super

.45 Win Mag

.454 Casull

45-90

45-110

.45 Professional

.50 AE

.50 Alaskan

I would settle for a short barrel (16") Marlin 1894, chambered in .45 Colt (LC for the unitiated). I like the look of the Marlin better than the Win 94...

YMMV,
