What are your opinions on Rugers P series?

True story...was shooting my P97 at the range and was having a pretty bad time of it :( A gentleman who was shooting with his son started asking me why I was shooting so bad....talk about being direct!!!!

He asked if he could try my P97 "Sure wise guy" I thought to myself. He puts the first shot way up on the upper right of the paper, the second shot center of target but way low and a third almost off the paper. I'm thinking "This guy is commenting on my shooting??"

He then proceeds to put the remaining 4 rounds dead in the center of the target one after the other...boy did I do a doubletake!

H looks at me a shrugs and says "Nothing wrong with this gun" "Shoots exactly where I place the sights" Turns out he was a former pistol instructor with the Marine Corp....boy did I feel sheepish :) I learned more from him in one hour of shooting than I did in the previous years combined.

Whats my point? Oh yeah...I remember..in the right hands, the P97 is one of the most accurate .45's going at any price...my price? 199.00 LNIB with about 50 rounds through it....yeah I like it :)

Bought the P95 and took it to the range one time. Reliability was 100%. Accuracy was terrible! It shot all over the place! Traded it the next day.

I have the P94 in 9mm. Finish and functioning is great. Accuracy is right on, I hit where I aim. Mine is definetly a keeper.
