What are your favorite Glock Upgrades?

1. Except for my 43, grip reductions to include trigger guard undercut. My gunsmith does a beautiful job on theses.
2. Sight. Ameriglo NS on the 43 and Dawson Precision on a 26, 19, and 34.
3. Trigger work-minus connector and smooth trigger shoe on a couple
4. On the 19 I have an extended slide release, take down "thingy" and factory mag release from a 34. I think I left the 26 and 43 alone-don't remember.
5 I put a Hogue Handall rubber slip-on grip on the 43 and like it a lot. I like the extra width.

Of the above the cost of buying a Glock is grip work by a professional to fit my hand and sights (at least front sight) I can see. I don't "have" to have anything else. I don't mind the additional investment. In the gun world Glocks are cheap compared to quality revolvers and 1911 style guns. Also I cheat and can by Glocks at LE/Blue Label prices

Some say it's a path for debris and dirt to fall out. Some say it's a result of the injection molding process as leaving that area as solid polymer would present issues for cooling and hardening of the polymer. And others say it's there to further enable the shooter to get a thumb inside for better leverage to pull a stuck magazine if gripping front to back (the cutouts Glock put in the frame seem designed around this front to back pinch rather than side to side).
I wouldn’t be surprised if all three were correct.

Only have the Glock 30S currently, but if I bought another Glock, I’d set it up identically.

-Glock smooth faced trigger
-Glock extended slide release
-Glock 3.5 pound (-) connector
-Pearce grip frame insert
-TDG striker control device

The Glock parts, I just prefer to leave those parts factory being I trust Glock OEM parts. If something breaks, then I’ll reconsider it.

The Pearce insert, I read a few concerns in this thread. Being I haven’t found a magazine well for the 30SF frame (what the 30S uses; hope Glock puts one out), the insert does guide the magazine into the gun. For pulling a stuck magazine, found it better to grab the base on the sides... especially with the magazine setup I use. If the gun takes a dump into water, it isn’t hard to pop it out... but doubt it would cause issues in the short term, if it needed to fire.

Specifically for the 30S... for the 10 round magazines, I switch out the Glock base for the Pearce one. With that, the grip feels identical to the 19. I do have a few standard 9 rounders, as well as 13 rounders with XGrips. That is my biggest reason for going with the 30S, as it does give me a lot of flexibility.

I used to be an anti-Gadget person, as I felt that people would use it more as a crutch. Getting one in hand, it made me more comfortable carrying AIWB with my 30S.

I like the grip plug because it helps provide a smother ramp for the magazine to follow up when reloading and it keeps a lot of dust, dirt and lent out of the gun. When I first got my first Glock 19 Gen 2 used back around 97/98 I did not have one and would find sometimes a quick reload would be slowed down when the fresh mag would get stopped by the channel in the grip. I was shooting an armorer friends gun and did not experience this problem and when we were talking he showed me the plug he had in his and I have ran them ever sense. Works for me YMMV and for the few dollars they cost I'm not concerned about the price.

I bought my Gen 2 Glock 19 new in the early 90s. The only upgrade I have on it is the Grip Force grip adapter which gives me better reach to the trigger with my XL glove size hands. Other than that it is as it left the factory.

The only thing I usually do is put a front night sight and a rear steel sight on them and an extended slide release for my 21 and 30. I keep an aftermarket barrel around for shooting lead at the range for most of my Glocks. That's about it.

Trijicon sights on my G43 and Trijicon sights, extended mag release, 3.5lb connector, stainless steel guide rod on my G21. Nothing on the Gen4 G19 yet but I do believe it will follow the same path as the G21. I do have some inside information that santa could possibly have a set of night sights for it so the upgrades will soon begin.

Had a couple Glocks but only fell in love with one, my carry gun for 7 years, a Glock 29.

In my opinion, there were three MUST-DO upgrades, one "darn good idea" upgrade and one "hey, helluva idea!" accessory.

Here they are:
MUST-DO, in order:
1) Meprolight Night Sights... not so much for the glow, but for the far better sight picture and far more durable sights. I do also like the glow and the Mepro's aren't obnoxiously bright, they are very nice for my eyes that are sensitive in the dark.

2) Dremel! I am not trying to be a jerk, but this pistol MUST have some offending plastic knocked down and dished out, especially directly under the trigger guard. Without it dished out, recoil of 10mm ammo smacks my middle finger.

3) Pearce +zero magazine extensions, these items on a Glock 29 should have been shipped with the pistol! They add no capacity to each mag, but it gives your finger somewhere to be and it gives far more control over the pistol.

Those are must-do. A terrific idea was to replace the cheap aluminum guide rod/recoil spring with a higher quality ISMI replacement. The original one was chipping and this one has five thousand rounds on it and hasn't shown wear.

A great accessory-- my KKM .40 S&W chambered accessory barrel. Just the barrel and no spring change and it runs 100% and it hits to POA.

Nights sights
Extended controls
Drop in trigger kit (Zev Technologies)
Lots of magazines and quality ammo
Periodical practice to keep the shooting skills sharp

Joke aside, I never have tried the SGM drum mag, but I was close to buying one. Didn't get it because I felt in an pistol it was a gimmick, with only a carbine having any potential serious use if they work.

The Glock 30 rd stick mags for 9mm and ETS .40 are great and I think they make the Glock stand out from a lot of other pistols. Very lightweight too. I hope that ETS comes out with some for the 10mm and .45 ACP. Doesn't need to be a lot, 25 rds would be fine.

I have been shooting for a long time but only bought my first Glock a few months ago at an auction. I don't think it had been fired before I bought it. It's a 23C. It came with both the stainless ported 40S&W barrel and a Bar-Sto 357Sig barrel. I did buy a stainless Storm Lake 40S&W non-ported barrel for it the other day to eliminate all of the blast to the face if I choose to carry it in 40. I easily qualified for my retired LE carry the other day in 357Sig with it. I'm thinking about sending the slide off to have a Trijicon RMR mounted on it, I'm not getting any younger.

I finally bought my first Glock this past July. A Gen 3 G19. I haven't fired many rounds through it, but, I find that I actually like the OEM sights just fine. I do pretty well with the "U" outline and white dot front.

I have changed out the stock recoil spring and plastic guide rod with a stainless steel unit from the Glockstore. Whether I can feel a difference between the 2 is probably a good question. But, I like the fact that I can't break SS, and it's a quality piece. Peace of mind is everything...
