What About A Firing Squad?

My understanding ( I can always be mistaken ) is that since the lines (I believe they start 2 (two) ) are put in prior to going into going into the execution chamber chamber the govenor or a coulrt could call immedialty before the injection with a stay/pardon/whatever then they would take the IV out. The prison system would not like to have the prisoner die of an infection after they had the death penalty cancelled

As always I can be wrong.
