What a strange Mossy...............

Neither one of the guns pictured have no practical uses for the average consumer besides having something their friends dont. I fail to see the point of having a muzzle brake on a shotgun.

Wouldn't it be for the same reasons as on a rifle? Reduced recoil? I don't know much about shotguns, got my first one for Christmas.

Yea a muzzle brake is for reduced recoil but it makes about as much sense a sputting screen doors on a submarine to have one on a shotgun.

First I need to say I'm not defending that massive canon muzzle break lol. But are muzzle brakes just not as effective on shotguns? My grandfather had a 375 H&H that the Brake worked rather well on.

I am still trying to figure out what that "chainsaw" shotgun would be used for. With almost no ability to aim. I guess in a zombie movie it would do alright but that's about it lol.

To me, if you can't take the recoil from a 12 ga and your older than say 10, something is wrong. On a large caliber rifle like the one you mentioned now is a different story, night and day. It has to be more of a form over function thing.

Not everyone is built the same way. Also it might not be about handling recoil for a few shots but extending how many shots you can take before practicing is unpleasant. But this is off topic so I don't want to clutter up the thread anymore.

My goodness. . .someone needs to tell them that the lever action as a patrol or defense rifle is no excuse to ruin a classic look!

I agree I'm sure there is a much more tasteful way to have the same features.
They did..... and they released it the same day as they did that "other thing"

The ONLY way a muzzle break reduces recoil on a shotgun is because of the added weight that helps make the gun a little heavier, not because the muzzle break itself does anything. MB's work great on high-powered weapons and artillery, not on low-pressure shotguns

Sorry -- what is that? Cocking handle? Grenade-launching sight? Or a factory folding vertical forearm grip and, if so, where can I get one please!? I want to attach a tactical flashlight w/strobe to it.

Zippy - gun writer friend was at SHOT, he was saying it was over 80% black, plastic, tactical stuff......(although the Fausti sisters were as gorgeous as ever) and there were some new guns that folks like you and I would appreciate coming out

I met them at the SHOT in Orlando, very nice
Folks, and they produce some nice shotguns along with some price point guns.
Mossberg is doing the same, coming up with price point variations on their regular gun to appease those whose first exposure to guns was a video game
