What 22 should I buy? Bolt edition

I had an old CZ452 with the beech stock that had wonderful sights and was very accurate. The finish and machining was rough and the safety was very difficult to swing. I sold it after it started having troubles extracting, even though it was always kept clean. This was a 1990s vintage rifle; hopefully the new ones do not have similar issues.

I don't think you can beat Marlin bolt actions for accuracy per dollar. Try a new or used Marlin before you make your purchase.

Since I prefer walnut stocks, I would choose a CZ 22 rifle if the cost fits into your budget. Otherwise, the Savage Mark II is excellent. I have both. My Savage has the walnut stock which is currently not offered by Savage. Both will shoot about equally based on my experience (on average). The Trainer is the least expensive CZ model and it comes with a hardwood stock.

I spent past week down in TX and spent a lot of time plinking away with a CZ452...great rifle. I'm thinking seriously about getting one.
