"We're comin' to America"

Hey Bruce!

I'm in Central California, but I wouldn't mind driving up and seeing some friends on the way, maybe carpool with a TFL'er or two. Keep us posted.

Best regards,

Ledbetter

Bruce, from another Texan, I bid you a HOWDY,PARDNER!
If you end up roaming around, you'll be welcome in Big D. I'll furnish the earplugs, guns, and ammo until you shoulder turns blue. (I shoot 7MM). I don't drink, so the Pepsi is on you! :D

Would come up but am currently trapped in the lower half of kalifornia, I dont think the state would allow me to leave for reasons of having a drink with another gun rights supporter. I would have to make up a story as to why I would be leaving this state, and have location and return time stamped before leaving, oh sorry that is the new law for next year.

If I any reason to leave the southern half and go your way at the time I'll see you then.

Glad to have you visit us, if only all immigrants thought like you, but then again the democrats would soon close the borders completly.
See ya.

Good on ya, mate!

When you get here apply for political asylum on the grounds that if you go home you will be oppressed by a regime that denies you the right and means to defend yourself.

WOW!! I just had to do a quick trip down south about 150 miles so I just got back.

Thanks people, your kindness really overwhelms me.

I'll keep you posted as I said.

BTW, bookie, if you read this ... my wife and I forced :D ourselves to visit half-a-dozen Margaret River vineyards while we were there. And I have a lovely semillon sauvignon blanc alongside me as I type this.

Thaks heaps everyone -- I'll get back to you all later.

Mmmmm ... political asylum? Never thought of that one ;)

Cool yall will enjoy your visit. If this is your first and possibly??? last visit to the States, you absolutely have to find a way to fit in a overnight in DC. I live in the area but Im not the best guide unless you wanna go to bars but I can get you hooked up. Email me at capt.morgans@worldnet.att.net. Plenty of time to plan. This is one of those you have to do things. You wont regret it.

Yep, same as bean counters..... Working for a winery I don't often get the chance to count beans.... so instead have to count grapes.... of course I prefer to count them after they are in the bottle.. :) I'm the Chief Accounting Officer for R.H. Phillips. See our web page at rhphillips.com

Another good benefit of working there... we have a real nice tasting/conference room that holds around 150 people. For employees the use of the place only costs us the wages of the employees running the bar and the wine that is poured (at cost).

Last night I held a fund raiser there for John Munn our local state assembly candidate. Only had about 60 people show up, but most of them were good supporters. Most were either farmers in the valley or executives who are concerned about gov regulation on their business. Total numbers are not in yet, but it looks like John has gotten a good start on raising the $250,000 he needs for his election bid.

I know John and he has promised me personally (a promise I will make him keep) that he will not only vote against any new gun control law.... but will introduce and work to repeal a lot of existing laws. John will also help support our CA State RKBA constitutional initiative. Well anyone is better than the liberal we have in now, who votes for every gun control bill that comes along.

The debate is not about guns,
but rather who has the ultimate power to rule,
the People or Government.
RKBA!

LOL - Thanx for the clarification, Richard.

Wow, I bet after 150 folks have a tasting, there is then a lot of conferencing. Good show on supporting someone who holds the RKBA views, too!

In vino veritas,
Dave K

I'm about a two hour drive from Portland. I don't know what type of job I'll have or even if they will let me leave. If they offer sick leave or is on a day off then I maybe able to come. If Ledbetter does come up on I-5 then I may be able to catch a ride with him. I live about a mile and a half from the highway so it would be an easy pickup. Hopefully I am going to stick around the State for awhile. Good luck on your trip.

Hey guy !! Just move here and settle in . Right now the job market is so good a broke nose three legged crosseyed dog could get a good job . The hunting is good ( But you can't even FIND POME's let alone shoot them ) . We drive on the wrong side of the road ( something about getting in and out of a coach that never caught on here ) and our beer comes in smaller cans . Other than that we are a lot alike . Have your host save up some Sunday classifieds and send them to you so you can get a "feel" of the market . If you like I could send you some sites for home sales and jobs in all states . Think about it .

Bruce, I just got from a trip also and found this thread. That is too cool! Too bad you can't make the rounds of the whole U.S. of A. and have a visit with all your TFL friends. We'ld have a special MATFLCS in your honor.

bookie, you will appreciate this. On my trip I got to visit the home of my favorite wine - Mirassou. I had been there in the late seventies and remembered the country lane up to the vineyards, the acres and acres of grape arbors, and the panoramic view of the foothills. Now you take a 6 lane street to get there, there is only 13 acres left and the entire winery is surrounded by houses on 1/4 acre lots. It was very sad. They were forced to sell almost all of their land by the Octopus called San Jose. SJ zoned their land away. Fortunately, they bought about 500 acres of better grape growing land near Salinas, so the wines are just as good as ever, if not better. But the history and feel of the place is now marred for me.

If you get to Washington, DC, let me know. I live in the area and would be more than happy to show you around.

Chances are he knows how to use it.

Bruce, on the fly in or out, get an extended lay-over (I'm 45 minutes from the Airport) in Charlotte, N.C. I'll not only buy the beer, cook the steak, you can shoot some of my most precious toys!! Gooday Mate!
