Went to my fancy pansy indoor range today.

I just got back from my fancy pansy indoor range
today.

Two older gentlemen were sitting at a table drinking
coffee watching me through the glass as I punched
holes with the .41 mag

I had a guy next to me shooting .380 he popped
off a few while I was reloading :D

Good times :D

I don't think there is one.

Just the guy shooting the .380 kept looking over
like I was making too much noise.

Boom Boom...then pause pop pop :D

Well Chalupa, I'm really glad you had a good day at the range. It's always nice to pop of some shots at a nice indoor range.

However, this post sounds like a Tweet.

Be glad you have some where to go to shoot on a cool maybe windy day. You don't have to go back,,right.fancy smancy

I try to avoid shooting the heavy metal indoors, and yeah, I know, the range allows some big time hardware just the same.

Last time I shot indoors, all lanes were occupied with the usual mix of 9mm, .40, .45 and .22 and all were having a fine time. All of sudden the fellows next to me put away the 9mm semi and starting launching some home brewed .454 Casulls with a smirk and a wink.

Shortly thereafter they had the whole place to themselves.

Do unto others...........

Hey,,, this is America after all,,,

~chuckling~

We're all tying to compensate for something.

I dang sure did not need that 426 Hemi in my 68 Road Runner,,,
But that's what I saved three years to get.

Same with my .44 Mag,,,
I don't need it for any practical purpose.

But it sure is fun to make the Big Boom with it.

There may not be a market for the newest best gun,,,
There will always be a market for the newest biggest gun.

Just a thought,,,

I think my point was there is a time for everything. Love the hard hitters too, but I see no reason to run 9 other guys away and then wink at each other like a couple of fancy pansys or whatever it was......

I'll put more in the next posting lol

Yeah had to mess with you a bit. I love the indoor range I shoot at, but unfortunately I have nowhere to to any good outdoor can and melon shooting . I need to find me a place to do some non-paper punching.

I hear ya Pyzon,,,

Please don't think I was making light of your original comment,,,
I was trying to have fun with EdInk's statement about "compensating."

why do people care if someone is firing a magnum. Is it really that much of a problem. I only ask because i have never shot at an indoor range. I have visited the Smith and Wesson shooting sports center many times though. It seems like everyone there wants to rent the 500.

My range is the woods and my targets are whatever i want to explode that day.

No one pays much attention to someone shooting a .41 mag or a .44 mag at my local indoor range. There is usually plenty of room to get a couple of booths away from someone if you need to.

I do have a problem with someone shooting tactical 12ga shotguns / or centerfire rifles like .30-06 at an indoor range where the max range is about 60 feet. Shooting 5 or 6 rounds / to check a new firing pin or something is one thing --- but there was a guy in there shooting a couple hundred rounds of 00 Buck in a 12ga the other day / and it was obnoxious / and he was just being a moron and showing off .....

It's hard to notice magnum handgun rounds at the indoor range I go to..... theyare pretty much drowned out by all the shorty ARs......

I froze my tail end off at the outdoor range here today. I did get a gallon freezer bag of brass though:D. Had the place pretty much to myself. The only indoor range near me is an hour away and it is $15 an hour charged to the nearest 15 minutes after the first hour. The outdoor range is $30 for all day and I can pick up all of the brass left on the ground, and scrounge a couple of the buckets.
When it is 38 with a widchill in the low 20s here in CenTex with a sustained wind of 20 mph it is chilling to say the least. It makes me think that paying a bit more not to shivver while shooting, and being able to feel the trigger would be worth the extra dough.:p

Yeah ... I was in an indoor range once shooting my .44 magnum. The guy next to me had a .41 magnum. It would be boom, boom, boom, then pop, pop, pop :D

It seems all relative.

aarondhgraham, the 426 Hemi IS necessary in the Roadrunner, the 540 isn't, otherwise... why bother? You know? It's essentially a Chrysler B-body with a cute horn with any engine lower than the 426. I mean... a Magnum in a B-body with a cartoon horn?! NO!

Also, with indoor ranges... I've spent the day shooting .22 next to .44mag and .357 and never felt any less adequate. I've also shot 9mm next to folks shooting .22 and never felt any better than them. Just my thoughts. If someone's shooting in the same range as you and feels inadequate (or vice versa) then there's something more going on there than just "shooting."

I once had a gun get upset because my Sig P6 was louder than his .40S&W Sigma and I explained that he had a longer barrel and the frequency was different and la-di-dah. He said "why is your smaller caliber louder than mine, it makes no sense" and I finally just told him "the grass is always greener on the other side."

In anycase, a roadrunner?! Why not the Challenger? 1971 Challenger with the bored out Hemi was the way to go.
