Well, Well, Well. HCI Gives Kentucky An F-

I strongly urge everyone who hasn't yet read John Lott's book More Guns, Less Crime to read it ASAP. It is by far the most thorough gun control study to date and his statistical analyses show that not only do concealed weapons drastically reduce violent crime, but the economic benefits that would accrue to this country would have been around $6 billion in 1992 (last year's full data, IIRC). He also gives a detailed report of the extensive, outright lies perpetuated by the antis, with the most blatant example of all being slimy Chuck Shumer.

I am proud to be a gun-totin' Pennsylvanian - which, luckily, had some of the most thorough data available for Lott to analyze - and the reduction in violent crime after the passing of nondiscretionary laws was and is very significant and very beneficial.

It seems that with so much anti propaganda out there, that we are always losing ground, but with news like this about Kentucky, I am very encouraged for the nation as a whole. Reductions in violent crime in Ky. will provide even more evidence that guns have an overall beneficial effect, not a negative one.

It is also very encouraging to know that there are still some legislators who care about reason, intellect and truth, unlike so many of the blood-sucking leeches who spread lies and fear to the sheeple and tell the sheeple that only they (the elected officials) can keep them safe.

Way to go Kentuckians! Carry them proudly!

David Scott---- Nice Gesture!!!!!! lol

Just a D for Indiana. Still I like it here.
We hardly ever get mentioned in the news except for the 500 or the Brickyard.

Congratulations to Wyoming for getting straight F's! It think the state deserves a standing ovation from everyone here. :-)

I'm really disappointed in Virginia. Only a C-

Honor Roll: "F" or better
Alabama
Idaho
Kentucky (F-!!!! Way to go!!!)
Louisiana
Maine
Montana
Wyoming

Honorable Mention (D-)
Alaska
Mississipi
Oklahoma
Texas
Utah
Vermont

The rest of you are just going to have to work harder.

Well, it's 11:45 in Louisville, Kentucky and I'm sitting here with the shocked as sh!t expression on my face once again. I just watched the 11:00 PM newscast and they reported this crapola once again! I just can't believe we are so starved for news that HCI's failing grade for LEGAL Kentucky carry is given so much airtime.
From the bottom of my heart and with as much enthusiasm as I can muster at this time I say a hardy UP YOURS to HCI.

Mendacity is the system we live in.

Yes, straight Fs for Wyoming, except the one F- for its shall-issue CCW permit. I love this place. HCI would probably give LEOs in Wyoming an F- grade also, they are cool.

Hoka-hey

Indiana only got a D *pouts*
Oh well it appears that it is because of out Juvinile laws. You can't own a handgun if you are uder 18 and you can't buy one if you are under 21. Same as federal law but they dink us on since it is on the books. Oh well I am happy. :)

I'm from Texas, and I DEMAND AN F- !!!!!!!
As a matter of fact, I want a personal F- !!!

My congratulations to those states that garnered the 'TOP' marks. (I don't like second place).

I love Georgia.. but for some reason, other states look quite nice right about now! :D

God, Guns and Guts made this country a great country!

oberkommando sez:
"We lost the first and third and now they are after the Second!(no pun intended)"

As seen in Atlanta's AJC, The Vent: "Let it be known that in this great metropolitan area that you might be able to get away with murder, but you'd better not bash a mailbox."

Great!!! I'm born and raised in
Louisville, Ky. It's really a great
place to live. I did 7 years in the
Army and çan speak from experience.

Bumped into Gov. Patton at the State
Fair last week. He was heading to
the door we were going out, toward
his vehicle. I yelled "How ya doin
Gov. Patton". He stopped and handed
all his stuff to the BIGGEST
undercover Officer I have ever seen.
He shook hands with Dad and I. As
He was leaving I said "Don't forget
us gun owners". He laught and said
"I won't, I own about a hundred of
them". I said "I know". BTW, He is
a Democrat :D

Now I he didn't like taxes so much
:)

No kidding, papercut! I was sure we would get an F-. We need to get busy before the next legislature meets so we can get the grade we want!

Darn! Georgia only got a D. We can do better than that. Come on, Georgians! Stand with me! We will not rest until we get that coveted grade of F-!! (Even Mississippi got a lower grade than we did! And people rag that state for not being up-to-date!)

Don't even get me started on this. I was spitting mad last night watch the news when they said Alabama received a F in a newly released study about gun safety for dropping the waiting period, etc. Never a mention who the study was conducted by. It bothered me no end because its the station I watch the most. Teach me to actually watch the news. Should have known better.

I have the dubious honor of livining in a state rated B. Illinois :( Can't say as I'm very pleased with making a good grade on this test.

Minnesota gets a C+. Arrrrg. Land of 10K liberals. Our governor claims that he is pro gun, pro CCW. He has never raised the issue of going from "may" issue to "shall" issue. He was even denied a CCW as governer. He complained, but has never done anything to further the cause. I would bet many gun owners voted for him because they thought he would be a champion for us on this "outsider" issue. But he has been noteably absent on it. So much for his independent stance on issues. He governs more like a liberal, though he claims to be a centrist.

Damn. Can't manage a measly F-, probably because we are a "may issue" state here in Alabama. Maybe if they realize just how few permit requests were turned down, we could qualify as a "shall issue" state, and be recognized as the gun-friendly state we are. No fingerprints, and permit costs $7.50 a year. C'mon HCI!!! Reconsider!

Just finished Lott's book. Everyone here knows about it, but knot sure everyone's read it. The 2nd edition paperback is out. It's a pageturner as far as I'm concerned. Buy it, support Prof. Lott. He's the man, seriously.

My eloquent activist younger brother reviewed the book for me the other day by saying "It's like watching a Harvard professor argue with a 5-year old" (refering to Lott vs. HCI).

Nice little chart HCI has there. Might just print it out and hang it on the wall in the shop.
