Yep - reloading is the way to go.

The .38spl and the .357 mag are good rounds to start with going down the reloading path.

I still have quite a bit of brass in both that's pushing 30 plus years old.
If you keep the pressures reasonable, the brass will last a long time.
 
Well done! If you do start reloading you can find a load that the gun really likes. You will find out that you are a better shot than you thought. Then you will be addicted.
