well I did it lol

I managed to qualify on both the 9mm and .38 revolver for my Armed Security license never having fired a gun in my life, and I was Top Shot in the class!!!

Congratulations!

Some of the folk that do regular instruction around here might just suggest that being new to shooting you listened to what they said and did what they told you. Imagine that.

Hope you go to the range a lot and have fun. If you run into any gun jerks just come back here and be reassured there are lots of 'nice' gun owners and (unfortunately) jerks can be found in every hobby/career/neighborhood etc. Don't let them get you down.

Thanks for all the replies everyone! Seems like theres more decent options out there then I thought lol. I guess ill just have to shop around and see what I like. The range I went too said they can order pretty much anything im looking for, so Ill just have to go to some stores, handle some firearms, see what feels good, and get my pricing options together. But I will definitely take all of your suggestions into consideration! The TLR-3 is what was on the 17 I was shooting and the weight felt pretty good, so maybe if my best pricing option is a Glock 19 with a TLR-3 and a Safari Land triple retention holster ill go with that. Or maybe a S&W or M&P... I dunno I have so many options to consider now lol. You guys have been a big help!

I do plan on buying the revolver mainly as my concealed back up, possibly with an ankle holster, unless my post requires me to carry a 38 or 357.

But also as a note whatever I carry has to be double action or D.A.S.A, but im pretty sure all of these have the single action option.

Springfield XD sounds like what you are looking for. Ditch the idea of mounting a light on your weapon, you want a light in your hand that you can turn on and off easily and shine in directions other than where your weapon is pointing.
