Weird Guns in Production

I seem to remember Jeff Cooper mentioning that a SxS with exposed hammers would be a good for a home defense gun that is set aside until needed. His reasoning was the hammer springs would be relaxed until needed, and with a selection of rounds in a buttstock shell holder it was the easiest of all the shotguns to switch loads. But then again he considered ARs to be poodleshooters.
 
Or you could make your own 10/22 Cohort with all Tatical Inc. parts like I did.
