My LGS has a Weatherby 22-250 on consignment for $1500. He says it is a discounted model. I haven't seen any that look like the one at the store online. I didn't get the exact model, but was curious if Weatherby ever made something more pricey than the 400-900 dollar ones I've seen online. Thanks for any assistance.

Yes, I was shooting my old Ruger .22-250 last week and have loaded back the empties for the next outing.

Re: Price.

Before you pay that much, be sure you know the difference between a Mk V and a Vanguard. The Mk V is the real Weatherby design with nine (sometimes six) locking lugs and has always been the top of their line. They have a lot of different variations but they all go back to that big stout action.

The Vanguard is a dressed up Howa with two lugs. I don't know what they would do to one to make it worth that much.

Here she is! I pick it up next Friday!

Try a box of Fiocci 55gr SP out of that thing, its some of the most accurate ammo ive found in .22-250 for my rifle... And that is one beauty of a rifle if i must say.

My LGS had American eagle 50 gr. I bought 5 boxes. The owner said his favorite is a 45 gr. that he blows up squirrels with. :D

I feel the .22-250 works best with 55 grain bullets. Wind plays havoc with lighter ones and they can burn barrels if loaded hot. My favorite bullet was the 55 grain Sierra semi-pointed. They shot great with a moderate load of IMR 4895.

I couldn't find anywhere that has the 55gr Sierra.. Thanks for all the input guys! I picked up the gun yesterday and finally got to shoot it. All I can say it wow, what fun to shoot. I got A KAHLES scope which I have never used and only heard about and was just blown away. I have never hit hit more targets on point past 200 yards!
