Watch what you say?

I tell officers and citizens who are involved in armed conforntations to tell the investigating officers, the following. "The man (woman or what ever) came at me with a weapon (and demanded money, etc.) and I was infear of my life and the lives of my wife, family, innocent bystanders, and I fired to stop his illegal actions that were dangerous to my life and the lives of others. I would now like to speak with my attorney".

If you clam up and refuse to talk with officers they will figure you did something wrong and it will deffinately come up at Grand Jury. Telling them a condensed version of the events and asking to talk to an attorney before answering their question is the best thing in my opinion. And we all know that opinions are like fourth points of contact, everyone has one.

Jungle Work

Jungle Work,

Fair advice. Condense it to something like "He was trying to [kill/attack/rob/stab/shoot] me and I tried to stop him. I feel kinda sick now and I should probably talk to my lawyer before I say anything more."

If they persist in asking questions beyond your identity, look distressed with a hand over your stomach and repeat the mantra "Not now." :D

Add duty to retreat

And in states where you have a duty to retreat, say "He was trying to ___, I felt trapped, and I tried to stop him."
