Wanna see my new model 28-2

I'll try to shed some light on the "Nickel 28" issue.

Jim Supica's "Standard Catalog Of Smith & Wesson" states in the Model 28 section (under variations):

Nickel: A few reported made with dull nickel finish, reportedly as salesman's samples.

This thread from the "Smith" forum shows a picture of Smithnut's pair, and a short discussion.

Nickel plated 28s were supposedly made in response to a Florida State Highway Patrol (IIRC) query.

FSHP apparently decided to go with another S&W product instead.

That would make sense considering the environmental factors in that part of the country.

Very nice jmlv. I really like the bead blast finish (love those dark Smith grips). Who did the finish and the front sight insert. I'm considering a bead blast nickel finish for one of my 28's, and a colored insert of some type (old eye's, don'cha know!) :D
 
THIS GUN WAS DONE BY AOCAL GUY OUT OF A NJ GUN SHOP.

I AM NOT SURE HE EVEN DOES GUNSMITHING ANYMORE. HE FOUND OUT HE CAN MAKE MORE MONEY SELLING CARS. MY OTHER GUNS WERE DONE BY THE GUNCRAFTER IN MACGUNCHIE PA.

By all means, please bring it! Just please do not get offended if the rest of us have to wear sun glasses due to the reflection off your shiney finish.
