Wanna Get Kicked like a Mule???

BLR takedown question

I assume my BLR takedown (450 Marlin) can have those Ghost Rings, and banded front sights installed as well??? If so, how much do you think the sight in point would change if you took it apart for carry. The original sights being on the barrel eliminates most of that, but separated I am not so sure.

It is primarily a carry rifle for Alaska, not a target gun of course! It is in Anchorage by the way--along with my .458 Lott--close and ready for installation!

I mounted and sighted a scope on one of those in 300 Win mag and thought I'd never get done. Worst kicking rifle I've had on the bench for a long time.

My BLR, takedown 450 Marlin, actually my son's now as I gave it to him, was rather pleasant to shoot! It was no .243 mind you, but not bad! My .460 Weatherby with a Kevlar stock gave me scope in the realm of recoil! I calculated the recoil to be around 120 foot-pounds before changing out the wood stock to Kevlar ... compared to 29 foot-pounds by the average 7mm Mag. it was substantial! Anything less is so pleasant for me now to shoot!:D

Here is a photo of me shooting my current heavy rifle, my CZ in .458 Lott! It is actually pleasant to shoot as well!:D
