Traded my P99QA today!!! I flat out hate *&* anyway. But after they became an importer or merged with Walther and dropped the price of the P99 about $100 just to bring it even with their version the SW99 I have been doing a slow grind.
Today I got my final revenge. Not only did I get rid of the P99. I bought a pistol from their homeland competitors Heckler & Koch. I will be writing nasty e-mails to both companies (*&*. Walther) shortly. Explaining my disgust with *&*'s high-handed business policies and Walther's idiotic merger with a company who will wind up dragging them down with them.
I now have a German work of art that I am not ashamed of..........
All politics aside, the P99 is one of the most accurate and dependable pistols around. It did not work for me because I kept on bumping that damn slide stop and could not find a different grip or retrain myself to solve the problem.
I took a $100 beating but it is just another lesson learned in my book. These two companys obviously do not give a rats ass about their customers. Only the bottom line. But nowadays companys who concentrate solely on the bottom line seem to wind up in the back of the line in sales and customer loyalty.
This is for the hotshot executive who thought he would make a name for himself and play shadowgames with the customer. Maybe you can get on at HK after *&* drags your company down the tubes.
Goodbye sweet P99 and good riddance Walther and *&*
