It is a "real M700". Wally World just buys 'em by the train load, has some company install the scopes and sells 'em cheap. At $300, guys will snap 'em up just for the action.
No ADL's since 2004. Discontinued in favour of the SPS, as I recall.
Wal-Mart and a few other big box stores still sell brand new ADL rifles. I bought a brand new 2014 ADL from.Sportsmans Warehouse a year ago. It was one fresh back.from.the.trigger recall. The ADL is just no longer a cataloged rifle from Remington.
I had a Remington 700ADL produced in 72. It had nice wood and the only difference with the BDL was the floorplate.
It shot nicely. I don't remember the scope perhaps Burris, made in America of course.
I shot pennies at the only range around with a marked 100 yard range.
Someone broke in and stole my firearms in July76.
Would love to find another one.
An ADL is a build waiting to happen and the complete rifle can usually be found new for cheaper than a receiver/bolt/trigger assembly. Dicks Sporting Goods even sells a stainless version of the ADL, and is the only retailer that carries it to my knowledge. I bought one in .270 win (one of the few "cheap" .270's with a 24" barrel) back in the spring and swapped the stock out for an H-S precision, got rid of the X-Mark trigger in favor of a Timney, and mounted a Nikon Prostaff 5 4.5-14x40. After my first round of ladder testing I found a 1/2 MOA load with a 130 gr Hornady SST and a stout charge of Ramshot Hunter. Now I'm ready for deer season
Added some Butler Creek scope caps since the pic was taken-
