Walking for exercise - safely

OP, a walking stick is good for many things, but not for warding off a car. if a driver doesn't care about crumpling their fender with your body parts, I doubt a few scratches with a stick will deter them.

can't you go to a mall and walk inside. old folks do it all the time around here even before the inside stores are open, the mall itself is as well as a coffee shop inside. weather is not an issue, nor are crowds at that time of day. just a thought.

In the areas I walk there are sidewalks. I don't normally carry anything with me when I walk other than a house key, ID, and cell phone.

If I had to dodge cars on my walks, I think I'd find another place to walk.

Luckily I live in an area where I walk where cars cant go. I do run across rattlers every now and then but my pocket revolver takes care of that problem.

Reminds me of another topic but I don't want to hijack this thread.
