According to this headstamp, there is. Walmart here sells 45 Long Colt Ammo.

Rudeness is Rudeness reguardless of the location. Walmart is no exception. If an employee is rude, then you have recourse, if you are rude first, you are the problem.

Gonna back up Hawg Haggen on that. There is NO ".45 Long Colt." That is a moniker frequently given to .45 Colt in common vernacular. It is a commonly accepted mistake, much like calling magazines "clips."

There are various theories as to its origin, but, there is no .45 Long Colt. I lost a bet on that.
 
If you're over 21, there's no reason to get upset over the "rifle or handgun"? question. Just always answer rifle.

I agree it's ridiculous and intrusive and inappropriate, but you have to realize you're working with a truly massive retail bureaucracy. That's the kind of crap you have to roll your eyes at for the rock-bottom prices. Organizations like Wal-Mart are more afraid of law suits than they are ticking a few people off and losing a few dollars.
 
Humm, I am not so sure they did not break even monetary wise but knocked it out of the park customer service wise!

In the late 70s of early 80s there was a study done that determined the number of persons you will tell of a good or bad experience with goods or services. The average number of people you will tell is 27. This customer probably told his 27 people on the way home with his new shotgun.
 
.45 Long Colt is merely a term that has come into common usage to differentiate them from .45 ACP. Some people see .45 ACP as a short round. The fact that there is no such thing as a .45 Short Colt eliminates the need to use the term Long Colt.

I use the term Long Colt in my dealings with my customers as many are new shooters or new to the hobby.

One could as easily use the term or .45 Rimmed Colt to differentiate them from .45 Rimless Colt. :D
