Wal-Mart and the devil.

Wow, Tamara, that was a cool story! I knew there must be some good cops out there who aren't so rule-bound and jaded that they can't tell a good citizen from a bad guy.

Now, how do we clone them?

Reading "Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal," by Ayn Rand, should be required of every politician and in every high school.

"Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined."

Y'know, Dennis,

I hate to admit it, but I also bought my first guns before the Feds kept records.

Winchester .22 shells came in bright yellow boxes. Colt SA revolvers came in pretty boxes with a picture of a stagecoach.

The excitement of taking a new rifle out of the box, free of the wax paper, and smelling that smell....

Back before there was a reason to call a Winchester a Pre-'64 :(

Tamara: Both. One would be in trouble with the law and the company. Heck, I have had two different people say my Spyderco Delica looks "dangerous" there. I mean they give you a box cutter. But that is less dangerous? I have owned that Delica for over 5 years and never drawn blood with it yet. Box cutters on the other hand tend to cut the hand that wields them on a regular basis.

Capnrik,
I'm grinnin' from ear to ear. It sure used to be free in America. (sigh)

The crack about Art is a running joke. He's just a couple years older than I am - but he's in MUCH better shape!

(I had too much "fun" as a youth! :D)

My first gun was a 16ga bolt-action JCHiggins from Sears. Cost about $16 and I shot a rabbit with it first time out.

The only paperwork involved was Dad paying the clerk.

And we were much safer then than now.

Gun control and the War on Drugs have only made things worse....

Another thing that cracks me up about Wal-Mart is when you have a .45 under your shirt and they insist on escorting some poor guy to the door with a .22 rifle and won't sell him ammo.
