Mrs. Clinton will not be offered the Veep slot. She is a very polarizing candidate and therefore appeals to the true party faithful...the true left...among Democrats.
Those folks are going to vote Democrat anyway.
What Kerry needs is to find a chunk of votes in the center of the political spectrum in one or two of a half dozen swing states in order to secure the election. He will attempt to get a centrist, moderate Democrat to run with him, like John Edwards. Edwards would appeal to groups that are traditional 'fence sitters'...soccer moms, NASCAR fans, folks who have been known previously as 'Reagan Democrats'. Sam Nunn might even be an interesting choice but is age is probably an issue. Kerry is desperately seeking balance in his choice. That's wy the trial balloon a couple of weeks ago about McCain.
I hope everyone in the top couple of tiers turns him down
