Now if you want to put up anyother service against the Navy Seals you will loose. :)

I know. And I agree. It's still disheartening to spend hours on end trying to teach these knuckleheads gun safety, and have at least three of them muzzle sweep you within five minutes of being on the range. Of course two of my favorites were: a) a seaman (seaperson?) that couldn't find the magazine release on the M9 for me to verify
her ammo count, and; b) a PO3 wandering blissfully about the ship with a slung M14 with a mag in the well and the slide locked back (shudder). As I'm sure you remember, nothing is sailor-proof.

There is no such thing as Constitutional Gun Control, period. Until '34 any citizen could own any gun, including cannon; you could own any warplane, ARMED; you could even arm your vessel with ANY weapon of war that you could afford. In the West, when you got out of prison they gave you back your possessions, INCLUDING your Colt SAA.

Dad was USMC, '66-'68.

I have 20 days and a wakeup left in the Navy. Almost 13 years (12 and 9) in uniform. Was getting out on my own, then busted up my knee and am now being medically discharged (though not retired), and that's fine by me.

I understand the Second Amendment, and why it is there. I have actually given training on the Constitution when I have been allowed, and have had MANY conversations about it with my peers, subordinates, and even superiors. I used to carry a copy of it around in the back pocket of my dungarees and would whip it out in a heartbeat if someone said something that didn't jibe.

Gun control is about people control. The only people who fear an armed populace are those who seek to impose their will opon the people by force of arms.

And THAT is the bottom line. And it is also why my oath is something that I will honor until I am absolutely no longer able to draw a breath.

I solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same.

(remainder omitted as I intend to cease following the orders of the president and officers appointed over me in less than three weeks)
