There are a few other mass shootings connected to anti-gun activists I can't recall them at this time though

I live in MN so I can say something like what if someone of John Randle's [a MN Viking] size/strength/speed was assaulting your spouse or child what could you do about it? Without a gun? Heck I have been lifting weights and doing martial arts for 10 plus years and I wouldn't THINK about trying hand to hand with JR. Don't think I would want to try a handgun smaller than my 629!

I am often tempted to ask these sheeple [though I don't because they would take it the wrong way] if they think they could stop me with my bare hands from doing some evil deed? I only weight about 180.

I think most anti gun people have no true idea what violence really is like if you WIN a fight. Not to mention what it is like if you loose!!

I wish they would go to a Boxing gym or even a karate dojo and try some "light" contact sparring for just 5 minutes. It would be a real eye opener!

I don't consider myself very good at hand to hand but I have sparred against at least one guy that could bench press 415 lbs and had been in Golden Gloves. I know a knife or stick in my hands wouldn't stop him, might kill him but not soon enough to do me any good.

I think it should be noted that technology, in the form of electronic communication and high-speed printing presses, plays a role in this phenomenon. The emotional frenzy the anti's can generate could not have happened in a world where the only form of communication was through the handwirtten or spoken word.
It has been said before, and it bears repeating again. If you could bring Aristotle forward in time to the days of the founding fathers, he would adjust fairly easily to the changes, as they would basically be cosmetic and cultural. If you were to bring Ben Franklin forward into today's world, it's not certain he would be able to adjust.

Does anyone here know of any psychologists who might be interested in doing a study of the anti mindset? It would be interesting to see the reactions of the anti's were a scholarly work to be done showing they were intollerant, narrow-minded, simpleton bigots.

this thread has got me to thinking. It has been my observation that most people view others as they themselves are. for example; out of the women that I have had relationships with the two that were the most worried about me steping out on them were the ones that had affairs. perhapes the rabid anti gunners are the guys that can't trust themselves with a gun, hence everybody else can't be trusted with a gun does this ring true with anybody else?

The current hoopla about gun control is not about guns, it's about control.

We've all known folks who are obsessed with power and control, it's their Jones, their cocaine,their addiction.

And we've all fantasized about what we would change if we called the shots.It's part of the human condition. These folks are acting on that w/o any attempt at reason involved.

One of the greatest fallacies we've come up with as a species is,"I don't like it so it must be bad".
The anti's don't like guns,are not confident/secure enough to take the responsibility of protecting themselves or believe that all gun owners are as unstable, as hysterical,as volatile as they are.Thus, they are dangerous, and the guns are what makes them so.

Some anti gunners are just sheep, some are wolves in sheep's clothing, some are wolves dressed as sheepdogs. The common denominator is, they do not want us to have the means of protection we need.

And if the Govt doesn't trust me with my guns, whyinhell should I trust the Govt with theirs?
 
Bam Bam and Docstodd, if you talk to enough antis at least a few will openly admit that to you. I just had another of my neighbors tell me that this week--and she expected ME to be swayed by the argument that nobody is responsible enough to own guns because SHE isn't.
I keep trying to think of a way to counter that without saying, in effect, that I'm afraid of the barbaric and violent person in front of me and that they should realize that most people are much better than they are. Somehow, I think they'll find that annoying.
