After much consternation and over thinking the issue, I referred to Dillon's Q&A section (didn't even know they had such a thing) and they said to use Schaeffer's Ultra Red Supreme Grease NLGI #1.

Even though in their video it's clearly not red.

Edited to add: They said to get the Schaeffer's #1. The only place I see #1 is on the Schaeffer's website and only in quantities of 30 tubes per case. $200.

I don't think I'd need that much grease to lube one reloading press, so I got the #2. The specs for #1 are identical to #2. Actually, it says "..description for #1 & #2."

What's the difference?

Lower viscosity would be the main thing that would affect what you are doing with it. See page two here for comparison of the numbers.

Regarding STP, it's not what you guys think it is. It's basically very thick oil with almost no additives. here's an analysis of modern STP alongside 40 year old STP:

Yes, I've seen that. A lot of redundancy in the numbers.

I'll apply a thin coat of the #2. It'll be fine.
