USS Tempest

Old sea faring sailing ships with dozens of cannons are very cool.
Turns out I have one in my family history.
A Sailor in my bloodline served aboard the USS Tempest during the revolutionary war.

Uh - problem...
I can't find anything about that ship!
Anyone have anything about the USS Tempest?
(NOT the 334 Ton Coastal Patrol Boat)

I went into dogpile and found umpteen jillion Tempest related sites, not one what we were lookin for.

Did find a historical aircraft site that made the whole thing worthwhile for me.

Sorry, I won, you lose. Will keep eye out tho.
