Used market flooded with great deals?

There are so many great deals on used pistols made 10-20 years ago I'm not sure why anyone would buy a new one today. Almost all of them are of higher quality that is what is made today.

I started buying only new and now I buy all use. I don't even look at the new guns these days and go straight to the used section.

There are some smokin' deals on new guns, but only if you get them at PSA, CDNN, etc. The small gun shop can't get the quantity discounts to pass these deals on. For example, I bought a P938 SAS for $499 from PSA a while back but dealer cost on those is roughly $570 (I work in a gun shop). I've tried to talk the owner into buying some of these deals so that we can at least lower the in store price but he wants no part of that. Consequently, no guns are being sold (I've sold one gun this week which makes it hard when you work on commission).

Not to drift the thread but that is the only way to use credit cards. If you get the right ones they will literally pay you 1% to 3% to give you a 28 day loan!*

I saved $145 dollars on a 1979 S&W model 19 in the box with Bass Pro points from using their Visa back in August. After another in store discount I was out the door for $295.

Amen to that my friend! I blew my self imposed allowance several months back. My wife knows that I never stick to these so I think I can safely make an addition in time for the holidays. I've been bringing her home the big bags of Ghiradelli Squares and Lindt truffles...she's well aware of the agenda.

One of my biggest fears is that when I die my wife will sell all of my guns for the price "I TOLD HER I PAID FOR THEM...."

LOL

The deals just keep coming. The selling market it sooooo soft right now. I could almost buy a gun every other day if I had the cash. LOL

The classifieds here are dead. Reasonable prices on decent guns but nothing is moving. The movement I am seeing is guns at really nice prices or else they sit. My local market is extremely low or it does not sell.

Are others seeing the same thing?

That's what I've seen on Gunbroker - production guns don't move unless they're at least $100 below retail, but the sellers don't seem to be listening. I'm hoping I'll be able to come back here in a week to tell you about the incredible deal I just got, but I don't want to jinx it.

I've even seen .22LR in stock at my LGS. Still overpriced, but at least it's there.
