US Special Forces Are Going To Love This Rifle

So, what IS it??

How'd you get one if it's military? And last and most importantly, how's it shoot?

Looks impressive. If looks could kill...

I'm gonna bash AR

I think the Knights Armament M110 SASS has some problems - I don't know what they are but why do the Remington and Springfield Armory rifles keep hanging around?

The M110 was also supposed to be used in the Designated Marksman role - especially since it has such a similar profile to the M16 that Snipers and Marksmen can't be identified by the enemy and specifically targeted. But instead, we see M14s being fitted to the SAGE stocks and being converted to EBRs.

Thanks KChen986,

hmm, I laughed at the website:

"The XM2010 features the new Remington Arms Chassis System (RACS)"
are they trying to be the new AI?

It's the new Remington MSR equipped with Schmitt & Bender glass and a AAC Titan-QD suppressor. We were testing the rifle on a calm day in .300 Win Mag & .338 Lapua at 1,200 yards. To give you an idea as to the guns accuracy, once zeroed, we were breaking skeet clays at 1,200 yards.

CountZero, You are wrong

The M110 is an MTOE replacement (1 for 1) with the M24. It was never meant to be issued to squads.

The TPE M14s that have been upgraded (and in some cases not upgraded) have been issued as SDM rifles along with various flavors of M16/M4.

Unfortunately the Army doesn't have a "really good answer" as to how to arm an SDM on a permanent basis.

I have no earthly idea why the Army doesn't just issue the M-110 to PDMs and SDMs.

Similiar controls and similar characteristics to the M-16 series.

Hell, never thought I'd be the one to say this, but I would like to see my SDM carrying an M-16A4 with a bipod and a nice optic on it. No more' no less.

Makes it easier on everybody.

Budget costs drive everything in the military. It is far cheaper to take an M14 and M16/M4 and convert them into weapons for squad designated marksmen than buying them off the shelf.

We did not even have a budget until the Congress just passed it in April. That has caused us some headaches in doing things.

Silently? Hehehehe forget it. A supressed 300 win mag or 338 lapua will give more noise then a 22 LR unsupressed. So you'd be cheaper of with a 22.
