Entered at age 32 as 19d Cav Scout. After assignment, all 4 years at FT Hood 1/32 Armor re flagged as 2/12 Cav 2nd BDE 1st Cavalry Div. I got sent to a lot of boards 'cause I was the old man with the pressed uniform and shiny boots. Didn't train too much. Soldier of the Year 1st Cav Division '94. Would have bit me in the rear as I got E-5 just before ETS in 1995. Was a good soldier but a not-so-good scout. Loved the free ammo! This is where I learned to enjoy shooting.

Hey Alan B!,
I was with C2/5ADA in 2nd Armor at Hood. We flew the "Happy Chappy" too! Remember 16 Papas well.
Remember "Rabbit Rapers"? For those that don't know, that's a Chapparel missle (sidewinder) flying horizonally at mach 3 about 4 feet off the ground! WHOA BABY!

7 years as a warrent 90-96 air cav the whole time. I miss alot of the people and a little of the NVG flying but not much else. Sure hope for some old friends sake that there is a change up in the white house.

19E&19K-M60A1&A3; M1&M1A1 Abrams Tanker(1986-1990). Big Red One 1st ID at FT. Riley, and 3rd ID, 1st BDE at Schweinfurt, W. Germany. We called Infantrymen "Crunchies," cause "crunch" is the sound that their kevlar helmets made when we ran over them with the track of our 64 ton M1A1. 1990-1994 I enlisted in the National Guard as an 11B in an airmobile light infantry unit. I became a "Crunchy."

aztec777, when were you at Ft. Riley? I was there 1986-1988, in 1st BDE, Bco. 3/37 AR.

I think I hold the record for shortest Officer Career in the US Army (at least that ended with an Honorable Discharge).
