UPS SUCKS!

I can now understand why UPS has to ship firearms overnite, Someone from the friggin board of directors probably has to deliver them personally to make sure it gets done.
The service here as dipped to a new low.
Friday I come home from work to find a "Midway" sized box at the back door, only I didn't order anything. I picked the box up and see that it doesn't belong at my address, call the UPS 800# and tell them they made a mistake come and pick it up "OK, they say".
Come home monday, box is where I left it, call UPS again, "OK, we'll take care of it", well today I come home and the ^%#@ box is still there!!!! I call the idiots back and try to explain to them that some poor SOB is waiting for this *&$@^ package and if it was me I would be really pissed off by now !!!
F'em , I'm not calling any more and the box can rot where it's at, then the customer can give them a case of the ass, but I sure as hell won't have them ship anything of value any more.

There, I feel better now ;)

try getting gateway computer delivered to you at the end of 35 miles of dirt road.
they wont do that, so try getting it delivered to the gas station along side the interstate where the dirt road exits.
took 2 months, and allot of calling, and then they didnt deliver we had to ambush to UPS driver when he stopped at the gas staion and say "u have our computer, we want it." to finally get it.
not fun, makes my faith in the USPS all the stronger.

I don't use UPS....had my computer shipped from FL to here [[Tx]]. Took a week on a 3day shipment. The box got here looked like it was dragged down the road behind the truck. Floppy drive busted.

I call and they say they'll send someone to inspect the damage. I had photoed the boxes with the driver there in the pics before opening.

Guy shows up...wants to TAKE the comnputer back with him! Like I'm gonna let them have it a SECOND time?!?!?!

Just another hot button with me lately.

Ordered part from Browing recently. They send UPS. About 10 days later, I get a card in the mail on the 23rd that says "we can't find you & we're sending this back on the 22nd."

Calling 'em didn't matter one whit, no matter their touted tracking system - it's sent back = "nyah!"

Browing's nice & they cancel the whole thing & resend.

I call UPS to query why, since they've delivered here 30 times before, that they can't now find us. We're rural, but it's not like there's no maps around.

"Must be a new driver."

"Oh yeah? Don't you give 'em maps?"

OK, so I request, please that they do whatever it is so they can find me again 'cause I got (another) package comin' ...

Idiot on the phone cannot get it straight that my name is spelled ALAN not ALLEN & after 3X times repeating my address, etc., I request a supervisor. A big step up. :(

This lady can repeat my name and address correctly - I'm getting jazzed.

All my info is being put into "The System." To what use, I ask & am told that usually the drivers don't check "The System" & rely on the maps they all carry in their trucks.

Still wondering how The System is a boon ....

After a few more wasted minute, I get sad. ;)

Needless to say, I'll never get my part from Browning. :(

"Idiot on the phone cannot get it straight that my name is spelled ALAN not ALLEN & after 3X times repeating my address, etc.,"

Sounds like the guy from Burger King moved up to UPS. :)

Few years back go thru the drive-in at BK...order a Whopper all-the-way with mustard, no mayo. Guy can't figure out what I'm talking about and finally asks how to spell 'mustard'.

Hitach Industries just shipped out my order of tracers on Friday. It went UPS. Let's see if I get them before my camping/shooting trip in two weeks.

They have horrible customer service and I HATE the fact that you can't contact the local UPS directly by phone. They only have that damn national 800 number. They're like the feds, everything run from one distant location. very impersonal.

Sorry to disagree But with UPS (want to crredit the driver more than UPS) we always get it here with out a hitch.

I live in a rual area and we have a good relationship with our driver. (Came home one day and he was playing fetch with the two German shepards)

FEDEX and Airborne wont deliver here, their drivers check their system, and our dogs are listed, they call and say they will only deliver if you tie the dogs up they might bite the drivers (same dogs the UPS driver plays fetch with) "Well we say when will you be here we can't leave them tied up all day" they reply "OH some time between 8:00 am and 5 PM" we ask "you can't be more precise than that" they reply "no we dont have contact with the driver"

With UPS it depends on the driver if you have a good driver you have it made. If you have a bad one...It looks like you are up that certain creek. (trust me I can tell when our driver is out on vacation or somthing) Once UPS told him to do somthing aginst union rules (there was a chemical spill on his truck and they wanted him to continue to dive it) they fired him for 5 days our delivery service stunk for that period.

And with USPS the phrase "its on a slow boat from china" doesn't begin to describe the service.

to quote my mom "Isn't full employment great"
we now get to see why some people are usually unemployed.

Hey Alan,

Did you see what the UPS driver was throwing for your dogs?

It was probably someone else's package. :D

Beware the man with the S&W .357 Mag.
Chances are he knows how to use it.

Sold a NIB Ruger Redhawk to a fellow in Ca.
Shipped FFL to FFL; watched my FFL place the properly labeled package into the hands of the UPS brown shirt. Watched the logging of the package, kept the tracking # for my records.
The other ffl gets it THREE WEEKS later, torn open factory box, gun has been fired repeatedly, and not cleaned. UPS thoughtful response..........."these things happen you know". Piss on UPS.(don't ask my real feelings, I'd be banned for life)

My personal experience with UPS has always been good. I've never had a delivery problem; the local driver seems to know us and gets us our packages in good shape and on time.

I've had more problems with USPS than UPS. I don't like their firearms shipping policy, but otherwise they have treated me well.

I agree with Alan B. I usually have success with UPS. I notice when we lived in Mississippi, the the service wasn't as good, but that was true in general down there.

I live in basically a residential area. Haven't really had a problem with missed deliveries or failing to deliver with UPS. But am always mildly amused when I get home and see a package waiting for me on the ground right in front of the door. Right on the box, bigger than Stuttgart, is the label that says "adult signature required", or some such because there is smokeless powder, ammo, etc., in there. Never have had to sign for anything! :)

I have had good luck with USPS, but pay the $3.20 charge to send things Priority Mail. I have had a couple of problems with UPS delivery. They left a $500 Valentine One radar detector 'adult signature' on my front porch, fortunately I live in a good neighbor hood. If I get a package from Brownells that is roughly the size of a pistol box and weighs about the same, the contents will have been rifled through, retaped, and delivered.

I stopped using UPS 11 years ago for my business. They lost two packages I'd shipped to Louisiana. The packages were nine-foot long tubes, one foot in diameter. They were never found. How can you lose something that big?

UPS called to inform me that the driver refused to deliver to my house as "The devil lives in there." After going in to town a few times to pick up my packages, I was able to convince them that the devil lives a mile further east in the colonia with all the caddywhumpus trailers and no road signs or identification and no postal delivery.

Called the gun parts folks on th e23rd to please cancel my order & resend (& that just after dealing with the UPS gods) ... gun parts folks are OKy-doakey.

Dad's here & had some stuff shipped from Bass Pro shops on the 26th ... it's here ....

Still waiting on my stuff. :(

Gawd! I pi$$ed off UPS & will never again see anything addresses to me. Anybody else can get stuff here, but I can't. ;)

Will have to have The Wife order it next time.

BTW, we did have a good driver that played fetch w/da dogs (yah! w/the neighbors package = LOL! ;) ) ... who knows? & I just want my stuff ....

Timely incident here.

Last week, I ordered a joystick for the puter. Yesterday, I came home to find a yellow sticky on the front window. "We tried to deliver your package, yadda yadda." Yeah, so leave it on the porch like you did with my Brownell's order last week, dipstick!

I signed the sticky and hung it up on the nail on my door. Today, I came home expecting to see my package sitting on the porch.

Nope. Another yellow sticky.

I called UPS customer service (ahem) and lit into the unfortunate sucker who picked up the phone. "Incompetent," "illiterate," and "moronic" were some of the gentler terms I used. Hopefully they'll manage to keep the box off the truck and let me pick it up tomorrow... to do which I have to drive all the way across town to the sole distro point for Colorado Springs, unlike the 6 points for Fedex.

News flash to UPS employees: most people WORK during the day and can't sit around the house waiting for you idiots to get off your butts and DO YOUR JOBS!

Someone explain to me PLEASE why so many companies still refuse to use any other package service? RSR's options are UPS-only. Same with Ellett. Brownell's won't ship some stuff by Fedex even if you ask, and defaults to UPS instead of contacting the customer.

Those imbeciles STEAL our stuff, BREAK our stuff, and LOSE our stuff! Why the bloody fscking hell are we still giving them money?!

A signed letter hasn't failed me yet. Date at the top right.

To whom it may concern:

Please leave the package on the doorstep. Thank you.

Keep in mind that Airborne Express is totally anti-firearms. They won't even ship a disassembled BB gun. For this reason, I will not ship *anything* with them.
