(For those of you lookin' for the short version, here it is: I'm happier than I've ever been, we're married, honeymoon tonight, got a place, got job prospects, probably gettin' a new gun soon, new range opening in the area.)
In answer to all the questions, the wedding was Saturday. It was perfect except for the guilt trips and Macchiavellian backstage maneuvering of both Melissa's parents. The knife was finished (barely) and I was really pleased with it, for a first bowie. The balance is nice and I think it was the only wedding cake knife with carbon fiber scales in recent memory around here.....
The farm was beautiful, the pastor was great, the DJ was a one-man party and even the food and cake were delicious. The weather was absolutely perfect--no one had to sweat in their tuxedos.
The vows were very cool--everybody cried, even my dad, though I'm not sure he knows I know that. Melissa sang me a beautiful song rather than write her vow.
She looked like a goddess in her dress.
We moved in with all Missy's stuff last night and bought dinner for our "movers" in our new kitchen, which was fun. And later today we're off to St. Louis, then out West for canoeing and cabin living (NO PHONE.)
Oh, yeah, and the new firearm isn't that far off anymore--we got a fortune in wedding gifts. Still thinking of a CZ-75 and a 10/22, and a new range is opening 30 minutes away next weekend right when we get back from the honeymoon. There it is--gun content.
Pictures will be here in about 2-3 weeks and will be freely passed around at the end of summer meet at Gunslinger's place in August.
Guys, I've never been this giddy in my life. Life is good right now.
