Update--life is very good....

Don Gwinn

(For those of you lookin' for the short version, here it is: I'm happier than I've ever been, we're married, honeymoon tonight, got a place, got job prospects, probably gettin' a new gun soon, new range opening in the area.)

In answer to all the questions, the wedding was Saturday. It was perfect except for the guilt trips and Macchiavellian backstage maneuvering of both Melissa's parents. The knife was finished (barely) and I was really pleased with it, for a first bowie. The balance is nice and I think it was the only wedding cake knife with carbon fiber scales in recent memory around here.....

The farm was beautiful, the pastor was great, the DJ was a one-man party and even the food and cake were delicious. The weather was absolutely perfect--no one had to sweat in their tuxedos.

The vows were very cool--everybody cried, even my dad, though I'm not sure he knows I know that. Melissa sang me a beautiful song rather than write her vow.
She looked like a goddess in her dress.

We moved in with all Missy's stuff last night and bought dinner for our "movers" in our new kitchen, which was fun. And later today we're off to St. Louis, then out West for canoeing and cabin living (NO PHONE.)
:D

Oh, yeah, and the new firearm isn't that far off anymore--we got a fortune in wedding gifts. Still thinking of a CZ-75 and a 10/22, and a new range is opening 30 minutes away next weekend right when we get back from the honeymoon. There it is--gun content.

Pictures will be here in about 2-3 weeks and will be freely passed around at the end of summer meet at Gunslinger's place in August.

Guys, I've never been this giddy in my life. Life is good right now.

Congratulations!

It can stay that way, too. I've seen it, and know it takes work (lots)!

Have a great honeymoon!

Pssst...in regards to your other thread...I don't think you got the apartment cuz of your TFL shirt (although I am sure it helped!)...it's because you look like the big 'ol teddy bear you are!!! ;)

Drink it up Don. This is what life is for and your enthusiasm for it is contagious. My beloved shall appreciate your spur - :).

Congratulations and best of wishes to you and the new bride. :D

Congratulations to both of you!

Life is indeed good when you can share it with someone you love.

From an Old F*rt, my hint for staying together:

"No matter what the future brings, always remember you are both on the same side!"

All my best

May you both always be in love, find peace and share your happiness with others.
Good luck... :)
