Only if you don't mind the risk of an occasional extra (bloody) hole in your leg!

That's never been my experience and I've been pocket carrying for the better party of two decades. It works fine, but you have to think about it. Nothing goes in that pocket but the gun. If you see me out on the street, I'll have either a Ruger LCP or a SW Mod 60 in a pants pocket. Cleanly concealed, ready to rock.

I do use an Uncle Mike's IWB holster, but only as a pocket holster. I simply de-stitch the belt clip and drop holster and all into my pocket. Works great.

The only guns that they really work with are smaller, lighter models (ie: Ruger LCP, Glock 26, Beretta PX4sc ) But, even at that, leather is the better way to go.
I agree, I used one with a Glock 26 for a time and found the G26 less a IWB gun than the Uncle Mike's a holster. Too thick for me, though the holster worked OK. As was said, though, reholstering is a pain. The only Uncle Mike's I use now is a size 1 pocket for a KT.

its a rusted '87 S10 and it runs just fine all winter, the '89 Cutlass has all original body parts! LOL!

When I was younger (1990) and had few Dollars and less sense, I drove a '72 Cutlass Salon for a couple of months (price was right: F-R-E-E) .......6 to 8 miles to the gallon and ran on spare parts, broke down once a week, often in the middle of an intersection ........ I lost a basketball that fell out through a hole rusted in the bottom of the trunk.... It was a hooptie, but it was OUR Hooptie! I was glad to have the car- it beat bumming rides to work.

And then I got a reliable car......... I can't believe I depended on transportation that was not dependable......... it's all about perspective, I guess.

It beats nothing.

But just barely......... Save your cash and go with a nice leather holster from Galco or Bianchi or Don Hume. All of them are great starting place holsters that will last, work well and won't break the bank when you move onto another style. Trust me, you'll try several different holsters at some point.

PawPaw, while you have done it for many years, it is a risk none the less.
What happens if you trip or get knocked over and fall into other objects? The only thing preventing an AD is luck.

I've got one. It works "ok" for VERY light use. It's actually better as a casual pocket holster. The material is tackey enough to hold it in place, and to leave it behind during the draw.

What's the difference if you trip or get knocked over and fall into other objects with a pistol in your pocket or a IWB holster? The pistol can get jarred just as hard. I carry in my front pocket all the time especially with my "pocket pistols" Someone should tell these manufactures those pocket holsters aren't safe.

I am an odd ball here. I have carried a Keltec P32 in one of their pocket holsters for years without problem. I also carry a 642 in a pocket holster when theirs is better suited for the pocket than my Mika. The original question was the IWB holsters. When I started carrying in my S&W 3913 in 1998 I didnt know they were junk. I needed a holster and it worked. I have since purchased more expensive holsters. I still carry in my UM IWB while I decide what I want in a holster. I am currently carrying my newest purchase a 3 1/16 SP101 in one now while I decide which holster I want and what ride height is best for me. Are they the best holsters? Are they on par with the great holster craftsman? Do they have a 6-8 week wait? Do they last as long as custom leather or match the price of such? I would say no. Do they work? yes
