Ultra-concealable firearms

Bill,
Not to get off topic but how can you say the P3AT is reliable? Please do a search. My wifes not only failed to fire but failed to feed. It is a cheap door stop. Buy the cheapest **** you can to protect your life. If he wants something in .380 might I suggest a Guardian?

I have 2 P32s that have been nothing but reliable. Also have a spare P32 and 2 P3ATs I haven't shot yet. P32 in my pocket right now. Wife carries one. I know quite a few people who have them-all love them. P11 in each car. Keltecs are some of the most innovative firearms made. They are inexpensive but there is nothing cheap about them. Sorry you had trouble with yours. Send it back to Keltec and they will make it right.
Bill

BTW- the P3AT is not heavy enough for a door stop! I also have a Guardian. Nice little gun, but heavy as a brick! Heavy does not necessarily mean good.

I recently bought a P3AT. Today is the first day I fired it.

I didn't have much time, but went through 80 rounds with one FTE. I'm sure that was because I limpwristed it.

I know 80 rounds isn't a lot at all, but so far I can't complain. It's certainly concealable.

If it hangs as I get more rounds through it, I'll consider if I want another gun or maybe send it to Keltec for some buffin' and fluffin'.

this small enough :)

scgunsmith - that is pretty small. is that the seacamp that I've heard about? I really like the clip on the black one.

Skeeter1 & X-Ray - since I already have my CCW & if the signs say NO GUNS... I don't take one. Ya'll must think common sense is in short supply.

Unfortunately, common sense does seem to be in short supply. Bully good for you for not carrying in a place you know it's not allowed.

I've gone to my mom's retirement complex after being at the range (it's on the way home). Whichever firearm I have with me always stays locked in the trunk of my car, and it has an alarm system on it as well.

I won't comment on what gun or how to carry it. I do know it's a good idea for health professionals to carry. When I lived in AZ a few years back a doctor in Tucson responding to an emergency call shot and killed a perp in a street domestic disturbance while carrying out his duties. He got major attention for this action.

He is currently surgeon general of US.

PSP Thanks for that chart. I've been thinking about a mouse gun for those times my G26 is to big and heavy for what I'm doing/wearing. This will help a lot on making my choice.

PSP, great chart. I have always wanted to see something like that.

I had a Kahr PM40, while is conceals easy enough and packs alot of power I don't like the polymer frame, plus I had some reliability issues and I just sold it. I'm going to go with a S&W 340PD or 360PD. In a gun this size I like the simplicity of J-frame revolvers.

Other than that I like Seecamps, NAA Guardians, and R9s.

Kel-Tec P3AT for me. The one I bought has yet to fail, 300 rounds of PMC hollowpoints so far. Not a spectacular amount, I know, but I didn't buy it for fun at the range, punching paper.

To tell the truth, it suprised me that it worked so well out of the box. I'm not much for plastic guns usually. Given it's size, it's even remarkably accurate. I'm happy enough with it that I'm gonna beta test one of thier single stack nines as soon as they start selling them.

Then again, maybe I just got "the one good one".:D

The first generation KTP3-AT had a TON of problems. I would not be surprised by anyone that badmouths them and Keltec in general. But the new second generation is a totally different monster. Get one and i doubt that you will be disappointed. Weight is a real issue if you carry for a long period of time (10+ hours per day), that is why i finally decided upon this gun.

Good luck with whatever your choice is;)

American Arms 1 1/2 " barrel .22 is lethal and tiny. When I was a lot younger
(70's), we walked into a large out door concert ( several hundred thousand) wearing only snug short shorts and shoes with one in the front pocket. they were searching anyone they thought could carry anything, booze, weapons etc. Just waved us through.
With CCI stingers they are pretty bad a$$ed too.
Just remember their built like single actions of old and Carry on a empty chamber.
I have carried one thousands of hours , killed things from snakes to elk and deer in the head ( already down hunting) several smaller critters, to a very large was mean dog.

I've actually been looking at derringers & vest pockets for my poker playing gun ( kind of a old school romantic notion of an old poker mans gun )... but while looking at the NAA revolvers, I see they have improved the cylinder, adding a 1/2 notch, that the hammer rests in, between chambers, so that you can carry the cylinder full of cartridges... I'd have one of their snake eyes limited edition poker guns right now, if they had built them on the 22 mag frame, rather than on the 22 long rifle frame...

for more on the improved cylinders ( which I think they'll replace for free on all previously purchased guns, look here...

As folks on this forum know, the hubster was recently in the hospital here in Houston for several days. While the ER entrance to the hospital wasn't "posted" (a Texas 30.06 sign ) the regular entrances are, so I was unable to legally carry there.

However, I do know that it is possible for hospital employees to ask for permission to carry, and that it is in fact granted. They also are working on re-introducing a security service for walking anybody to their cars that requests such (after I wrote them and took them to task for security problems I'd encountered there). The law always gives the property owner last say on this at least here in Texas...and if the hospital says "yes", the law isn't going to come and arrest a doctor who's using his CHL to carry.

Stay safe.

Although they are a little difficult to find, a AMT Backup makes an excellent pocket pistol with true firepower in either 9mm, 40 S&W, .38 Super or .45 ACP.
I found a nice 40 S&W in a local pawnshop a couple of years ago and they had a .45 ACP as well, so there are still some out there.

the AMT's ( as well as several of the others ) seem to have a very sketchy past... I had an AMT 380 back up, that I bought used & I thought the gun was "cool" ... my 1st compact gun... but it was junk...would miss fire / feed at least one cartridge out of every clip full... I even tried buying a new clip, still the same results... had I know my smithy buddy back then, he might have been able to make it reliable, but my expirience with a pair of throw away 9 mm & that AMT, had converted me to a wheel man, it's frustrating at the range, when you get FTF or misfires, but is more than I cared to put up with when it's something that may effect your breathing in the future...
