Two basic reasons: 1) the PSP is marginally slimmer, just enough that I feel it when carrying IWB. 2) the heel magazine release is more secure, less likely to be accidentally tripped, and is not much slower to use then the M8 style release. in addition the PSP adds that little bit extra ownership to the weapon, many folks just miss the heel magazine release and cannot find away to reload it (empirical evidence using a sample of around two dozen, 9 needed to be shown how to drop a mag).
