Tyranny Response team rises to counter Million Mom March

The fair board sounds like it is looking for an excuse to shut down gun shows. I had called and left Krasner a message on how to legally fight in federal court and win, as was done against the city of Houston. I gave him the contact information for the attorney. That was 2 months ago and I never heard anything. The fair board cannot prohibit the freedom of speech or expression on public land. If they prohibit the TRT from protesting then they must not allow the MMM people access either. What the board is doing is resorting to blackmail and Krasner would rather appease them than fight. If he isn't willing to fight for his own livelyhood why should we care? A govt entity cannot prevent you from using a public facility for a legal purpose. Buy guns, selling guns, owning guns, and shooting guns is all legal. The Houston promoter won a $300,000 lawsuit, BUT he was willing to fight. Sounds like Krasner just wants us to lay down. I think that he is more interested in money and profitting off of us than helping to fight for our rights.

Horrifically out-numbered!!!

about 50 sympathizers, exchanged angry words with the 30 Million Mom March members. Soon after, the women disbanded.

Wow. 30-million to 50? You guys were out-numbered 60,000 to one? Your bravery is the stuff of legend.

Aye Lads, It was a struggle that will be sung around campfires for eons.
The estrogen wafting off of the 30 million moms was blinding.
When the MMM leader told us their koosh balls would blacken the sky above us,
our valiant TRT responded "Then we will heckle you in the shade".
Several times we had to lay down our signs and ape scratch just to prevent episodes of singing like Ann Murry.
Once one of the TRT members faltered and was amost consumed by the followers of Rosie.
We rallied and managed thru air guitar playing to push 200,000 of them back
and rescue our fallen comrade.

It has been suggested that a silent protest might be effective this time.

It does seem like the war has been lost here in Montgomery county.

My humble opinion:

Don't protest and have the gun shows gone in 6-12 months, while allowing the Million Moron Marchers their PR victory

-or-

Get RIGHT IN THEIR FACES EVERY STINKIN' TIME, and have the gun shows gone immediately, while the TRT steals their fire and subverts their commie message.

Tough call.... (Hint: not for ME it isn't.)

Stand up to tyranny EVERY time, or pack your bags and go home to cower in the basement. You're gonna lose the shows anyway. Wanna give them up without a fight? Sounds like another "gun law compromise" to me...

Sheesh....

Every stinking time

To All:

Dennis Olson and others are, in my opinion, correct. It is not time to weaken, and follow the discomfort of people who tell us that if we shut up and go away, that somehow our rights will be respected and uninfringed.

That is nonsense. We have a pro-gun President, Vice President, an "absolute Second Amendment purist" in Condi Rice as National Security Advisor - and now John Ashcroft as Attorney General - a man who is openly against certain firearms restrictions, and also the top receiver of NRA funds.

With this advantage, we press home!

Coasting now would throw away an advantage that doesn't come around more than once every generation or so.

If the gun show promoters are not willing to stand up for the constitutional rights of their patrons, then I for one cannot sympathize with them. There's no longer a neutral ground in this debate.

A battle in the shade, indeed. If you want our rights, you can come and take them.

Best regards,

So, if Frank looses the fair grounds his whole business model fails?
WTF?

What about having the show in the old safeway building in Germantown or the plethora of empty Hechinger buildings in the county? Plenty of parking and big loading docks available.

Why is the fairgrounds the only place that works for a successful 10 year old business?

Wouldn't the vacant Hechingers building next to Atlantic guns in downtown Rockville be a great place for a gun show?

Why does loosing the county fairground show location end the gunshows in Montgomery county?

I second Robert Teesdale's post.

I stifled an immediate response to this situation (hard for me :) ) and slept on it.

It still came out the same. I sympathize with Mr. Krasner's position, but as others have pointed out, he's at the mercy of politicians and therefore is between a rock and a hard place UNLESS he follows the Houston example. If he doesn't, the gun show is gone, no matter what.

"The lawyer for the fairgrounds, who was squarely on our side before he rode down to that end of the grounds to look at things for himself, now would prefer to get rid of gun shows."
He would prefer? Who the Hell does this guy think he is? It's a wonder he didn't say, "We are not amused." Here's a suggested dialogue between Mr. Krasner and the fairground attorney: "Bernie, I love you like a son, but if you try to screw me out of my livelihood, I will sue Montgomery County into the next Millenium." (Sometimes you have to use a 2x4 with these people.)

If TRT does not show up, the MMMs (along with their media buddies) will brag how they shut down this show and thus gain more unwarranted respectibility. Look how the bragged about the Tampa WalMart decision as well as the AT&T ad pullback.

If TRT DOES show up, and the show is closed, they will naturally get the blame as the pols try to deflect criticism. But, since when was TRT sensitive to any heat? ;)

I do think that a shift in tactics to the "silent treatment" might be better here, but I am not at Ground Zero. There might be extenuating circumstances. At the same time, we can't let the opposition set the rules by hiding behind children or their feeling of being "threatened" either.

TRT has my support, for whatever it's worth, in this matter.

Damn the politicians!

Full speed ahead!

This guy sounds like a S&W in the making. While I can sympathize/empathize with his possible loss of a 10 year money maker, I can not sympathize with the compromise of our God-given rights.

Sink the MMM!
