Two gun carry no more....

Ankle holster for the 2nd gun. Doesn't matter how big you are. Ankles don't grow very much, and nobody looks down there, unless you are wearing shorts.........

I tried the ankle holster with an LCP I had, I hated it. The holster bounced around all the time and was very uncomfortable. Also it was hard to draw from. I truly think I'll be better suited relying on one gun, better situational awareness and being more defense minded.

I think to be sure, a BUG is required in case the primary is either malfunctioning or out of commission for any number of reasons. While extra mags are a good idea, they become paper-weights in the event the primary gun is rendered useless. I carry a small little Beretta Bobcat 21A and I hardly know it's there in terms of any inconvenience. Chances I will ever need either primary or secondary? Small, but I want them both just in case. Of course, opinions will vary. By the way, I can relate to the weight deal as I once weighed 310 and I have been 180 now for three years. Obvious advantage, I can conceal much better thin believe it or not--Disadvantage, no more donuts!

-Cheers

When working, I always carry a BUG (Rossi 462) in an Uncle Mikes ankle rig. I have used ankle carry extensively without any problems. I think the trick is using a rig with the calf strap. It secures the weapon so much better. When carrying day to day, my Rossi becomes my daily carry weapon. When carrying normally, I don't usually carry a BUG, but I always carry two reloads (two speed strips carried in a accumold pouch).

Key is a calf strap.

Ankle carry

I had one ankle rig I liked. It was made of neoprene like a wet suit and it had a small holster sewn to it. It fit from ankle to kneww and had a zipper to snug it up. It fit my Beretta Tomcat and a Colt .25. I carried a 442 Smith in it and after 16 years it still fits and stays.

I had a premium factory round (marketed to law enforcement) that was a squib and the bullet got lodged in the barrel; it was during practice, so no emergency. It took a lot of force to drive that bullet out of the barrel.

Consider if the same thing happened in a SD situation and that was your only gun.

I always tought one gun was enough. Why would a civilian feel the need to carry more than one gun when a lot of soldiers in combat situations have only one gun.

Soldiers in combat usually have more than one gun, plus Tanks , Helicopters and Airplanes.

You have to draw the line somewhere why not carry 3 guns. Or just barricade your self in the house.

If some common sense has to be used or people would be running about Rambo.

I agree that 1 gun should be adequate, just didn't think your example of guys with tanks only needing 1 gun was such a great argument.

I'm fortunate in that I don't live in an area which is nearly as dangerous as some of you folks. If I were going to a local place where I even considered it might be bad enough to warrant me carrying two guns, ONE OF THEM WILL BE A RIFLE/SHOTGUN.
I have started packing a 6" 357 on the trapline in addition to the 22 loaded with Aguila Colibri ammo. Deer season is open and I still have a tag plus I got a report of some cat activity not far away. It's not that I'm afraid of a cougar, I just intend to be appropriately equipped should it and I happen to meet.
