Like every other presidential nominee he made promises...promises which he may have known he couldn't keep but were made for political gain. He can promote anything he wants at the NRA. When it doesn't happen it's easy to blame the "other guy" for the failure, especially in politics.

If a president could wave a wand and effect gun rights nationwide, we would have lost them long ago.
We are getting our butts handed to us on local levels.
There's political issues that will never go away, both sides use the issues to get voters and get people engaged. The issues won't get solved because that piece of political capital will get lost with a solution.
All the issues fought over during this election, will be there in 24 years. We as gun owners will see a few wins and losses, but gun control will still be there.
