Trijicon's or Meprolight?

Talk about reviving a thread from the dead.

But doesn't Trijicon offer a service to replace the tubes at a reduced (less than half? <$60?) cost when out of warranty? Does Meprolight also offer this option?

You are responding to a thread that is 11+ years old....

And yes, I recently (about a year ago) purchased a pistol with Trijicons that were dim from age. I sent in the slide and they replaced the capsules ($17/ea IIRC).

I sent the slide because I did not want to risk damaging the sights knocking them out and in.

Re Mepro sights

No support only after many emails and fax and facebook posts
did they answer ?
only after sringing me on for weeks did they decide that they will not do anything at all
and now no responce to request to make complant to management ?
:mad::mad::mad::mad:

I've had more experience with Trijicon's, but my limited experience with Mep's has been positive, as well. I'd be satisfied using either.

Is PT Night Sights even still in business? I've bought a few sets of night sights from them and had a number of problems ... poor machining, poor bluing (salts left over!?!) and I had 2 front post capsules and a rear capsule go dark in less than a year.

Out of all the personally-owned and issued Trijicon's with which I'm familiar (as an owner & armorer), I've known of a couple of sets that were damaged due to heavy impacts (a pistol dropped while running, and which tumbles along pavement, can be hard on night sights, it seems), and a capsule that started to become a bit dimmer than the others after only several years.

I have both, no issues with either, they both perform as advertised.

My Trijicons are much older than the Mepros, so definately more proven in my case.

I don't have experience with CS of either.

re meprolight issues

update still no help from meprolight trying to say after 1 year plus of the run around I have been told that they will now finally take the faulty unit back and try to repair but they have to wait for authorization from the Israel Government before I can return the item to them this has now taken over 4 months
They still will not reply when asked for updates even when have confirmed at least 4 separate people in the company have received and read the emails

I have Meps on two of my guns, no complaints. I'm at about 8 years so far.

Don't ever waste your time with PT sights. I left my gun with (XXX) to have Meps installed, and it seems they were out of my particular model in Meps so just went ahead and installed PTs on it. I thought that was odd so asked to be able to go in the bathroom and look at them in the dark. Yellow and red and so dim that I could NOT see them at arms length!

They had the cojones to try and treat it as a warranty situation on me and have me deal with PT direct. It got heated. I did not authorize anything but Meps, and the least they could do is to phone me and ask if there was to be a substitution, which they didn't. They finally backed down on it. Be careful whatever brand you choose.

They are both equally as good, EQUALLY AS GOOD.

Ditto. Tritum is tritium, doesn't matter the brand. Here's a photo of the two sights together. I prefer the Mepro because I see them better in normal light due to the larger white ring. The easy replacement of trijicon is attractive.

Mepro on left, trijicon on right.
