Trijicon's or Meprolight?

I know there's a price difference between the two but what are the major differences? Everyone I know gets Trijicon.

In my experience IWI PT night sights are better than either Meprolight or Trijicon.

Between those two, I'd go with Meprolight.

Trijicon's came with my Glock 19. I was so impressed that I had them put on my G26. Most of my activities are at night, so night sights make sense.

Either one if fine. Functionally similar. I think the Meprolight warranty is a little longer.

Either way, look for the kind that have a white ring around the insert -- which allows you to seem them better in daylight.

I've had Meprolight, Trijicon, and PT, and prefer the Meprolight. (The PTs I had failed in less than a year, but were replaced under warranty very quickly. Have several friends who bought PTs and will NOT buy them again.) The colored (red, orange, etc.) PTs are much less bright than the green.

Both are warranted for 12 years. Meps are not as bright in my experience as the trijicons, and they were having QC problems. I have Trijicons on all my carry pistols.

Seemingly, the Trijicons have slighly sharper edges; as a result the may "look" brighter. Mepros, on the other hand, may "look" somewhat smudged -- it has no effect on how they function.

I have the former on my Kahr MK40 and Glock 23, and the latter -- on my Sig 229 and 226. Also, I've got PTs on a Sig 239 and a Glock 26. On the Sig, the front sight has dimmed within just a few months (I had no problems so far with the set on my Glock 26) which makes enough reason NOT to buy PTs ever again.

I have had Trijicon. Meprolight, mmc and Millit night sights. I prefer Trijicon for their brightness and sharpness. Mepro's are a good second place and MMC and the others suck and are dim. I have heard bad things about Pt night sights durability.

I prefer the Meprolights over the Trij's only because the tubes on the Meps are white which, during the day, gives the dots a larger appearance than the silver tubes on the Trij's.

I'm with CMOS on this one... I used to use Trijicons all the time, but on my last set of night sites, I decided to try out Mepros... It has worked out well for me and the probably the biggest difference to me is that the white ring on the Mepros is behind the glass, so it won't get taken off like the Trijicon rings (which has happened to varying degrees on all the Trijicons I've had)...

Mepros on my sigs, trijicons on keltec and glock. All around Mepros are best, like the others stated, the mepros have the big dot feel, you can't miss them. They seem brighter to me, and the dots in the trijz seem tiny. In the daytime or indoors well lit the trijz kind of fade a way. All I get is black blocks...hmmm better call my opto..

WOW! More feedback than I expected, thanks fellas. I'm gonna go with the Trijicon's .......actually the Mepro's....... I'm still confused. Ah well, I'm headin' to my dealer tomorrow. I may try the Mepro's because I had the Triji's on one of my old G-36's and the dots were kind of small. All in all, thanks for the good feedback.

I have a set of Trijicon's on my GM, been there since '95, they're still plenty bright...

Now, can anyone tell me where to find a front night sight for a Win. M94, or else where I can find glow-in-the-dark paint to put on the factory blade? I've written to both Trijicon and Meprolight, and have been ignored.

IMO, Trijicon has better marketing and somehow gets people to buy an inferior product at more money.
The Mepros are brighter in my experience, and the big bright white tubes are covered with glass. Mepros are very easy and fast in all light conditions due to their bright white tubes around the inserts.
Trijicons have no covering over the white stuff and it flakes out. At best, the white outline is poor, and at worst, it flakes out and there is none left.
Mepros are a better product all around, and they are less money. I think Trijicon spends all that extra money on advertising and marketing....and it works.

Red Bull, Mepro had some very serious quality control issues 3-4 years ago, with lamps breaking, shaking loose, and dimming prematurely. I've heard they got theyre act together, but I still am wary of them.

I have adjustable Meps on my 70 Series Gold Cup and G21; fixed Trijicons on my G30. I really can't tell any difference in the low-light brightness between the brands. It's true that the white ouline on Trijicons disappears. That's not an issue with me, as I never tried to shoot by "lining up the dots" anyway. I get a proper sight picture, which doesn't involve dots, and have at it. Under low light, you line up the dots, only because you can't get a correct sight picture.

Re Mepro sights

Purchased Mepro-25 some 3 years ago and has failed in the light-source (10 year warrantee for this)
After 6 months’+ of trying to contact they direct (as original USA seller no longer trading) finally got reply after Facebook question on their wall
I have had Weeks between replies to questions
To be told that they will not honour warrantee at all
Have receipt and all box and instructions Etc. but they say should not be sold outside USA! But they advertise at shows in UK Etc. and no mention of this in any of the paper work or on the box plus it does say “Meprolight guarantees” not the seller
(Director of Sales & Marketing, North America and Europe) sell to Europe?????
Asked how to how to lodge a complaint on their failure to honour warrantee no reply
Would not recommend at all if this is the service you can expect
I am glad I do not have to depend on it like some I use to work with?!!

I vote Trijicon's. I have a set on my 96fs slide that are dated 96 and they still work with a nice glow in the dark
