Tried to convince the wife it was a fridge...

I wonder if the men who lie to their wives would continue to lie to them if for every lie they told the Wife, the Wife was allowed a lie to them without repercussions?:D

You guys want to be fair don't you? Remember, her lie doesn't have to be about guns and safes...it's her lie. You got to choose your lie, she gets to choose hers.

Boy, you'd think that gun owners would be some of the most ethical people on the planet, and look at them!

She is Japanese and just doesn't understand the importance or sheer fun of my hobby. Her society simply has no need for the people to self-arm or to protect themselves and she wasn't raised around guns of any kind.
Have you considered buying her a sword? Nihonto can be quite interesting, and are very culturally Japanese.

My late Father was a small business man.
We weren't wealthy but we weren't living week to week either.
He never consulted with my mother while conducting business.
He never bought on credit and he always gave my mother enough money to run the household any way she pleased and she still was able to put something away for a rainy day.
He didn't have any real hobbies but he liked buying a new car every couple of years when I was young.
He never asked her if it was ok to buy it or if she liked the color nor did she really care.
By the same token my Father never questioned my Mother as to how many dresses and shoes she bought.
All he wanted to know was in which closet he should look to find his displaced clothes.

My parents never sweated the small stuff and whenever I'd ask him about anything important I knew the answer before I asked the question.
"Go ask your Mother"
I still have stored away a small plaque he had hanging up that read.
"I am the boss of this house.............................and I have my wifes permission to say so."

They were together for 44 years untll his passing and I could say that they had a mutual respect for each other that allowed them to let each other do as they pleased as long as it wasn't financially prohibitive.

Long ago my missus and I made a deal. I keep all my gun related stuff in my hovel downstairs, and she gives me no grief when I dip into the general fund for what I need (within reason). So far, so good. Marriage is, like so many other arrangements, a compromise.

New? What? This old thing? I have had this for a long time, you just didn't notice it since you have no interest in some of the diversified aspects of our "investments". Like ammunition dollar cost averaging.
She likes my 401K reports and bonuses so there is nothing said when things "show up" or the weekly stops from Fed Ex or UPS.

I never say word one about what she purchases and that sets the tone for anything I acquire. Cars and boats, that's a different story.

She did want to know how to operate the new Uniden Home Patrol Scanner.

While my lady doesn't complain under normal circumstances, she is really not complaining about the latest handgun acquisition: she was eyeballing my S&W 65-3 3", so I bought another one just for her.
