Tried a Beretta 96A1, strange experience

This statement makes no sense. Completely arbitrary.

Arbitrary?

I think he's saying most guns are designed to function and Wolf works.

Wolfs main (maybe only) good point is its lower price. I've never heard a lot of folks singing the praises of Wolf's accuracy. I feel much the same way about Winchester White Box... but if necessary, I can shoot WWB at the indoor range I use. I can't shoot Wolf or any of the other similar cheap, imported stuff there (It probably has more to do with that ammo's non-recyclable steel cases (and, in some cases, non-lead projectives) than anything else, but it is a negative for the range.)

I only purchased Wolf years ago when I was fortifying my 7.62x39 Armageddon stockpile. Soviet Bloc style guns function well with it, although neither the ammo nor the guns it was made for are known for being tack drivers.

A fine pistol such as a Beretta deserves a higher grade of Ammo. Try Fiocchi or S&B.

I want to clarify my earlier comment on wolf. I've shot loads of wolf out of an SKS I had, and it wasn't like it didn't work, but it was dirtier and more inaccurate than any of the other ammo I shot. It's cheap though, so it's still worth it, but all I meant to imply was that if the gun doesn't like Wolf that's more a reflection on wolf than on the gun or shooter, because wolf is pretty junky...

I have one .40S&W pistol left, a Sig P226 and IMHO I think it and the Beretta 96FS are to 2 best service pistols in .40.

steel cased ammo in 40sw is typically soft shooting.

Tulammo steel cased ammo in .45 ACP is very soft shooting and accurate, I like shooting it in my Gen4 Glock 21
