Triburst, Hellfire, other "full auto" trigger gadgets

Hi, guys,

None of those gadgets make a semi-auto into a full auto. The law defines a machinegun as a weapon (except a shotgun firing pellets) which fires more than one shot with a single operation of the firing mechanism (trigger). Those gadgets operate the trigger very rapidly, but do not fire more than one shot per trigger pull.

Mostly, though, they are junk. Even the good ones are touchy partly because they can pull the trigger before the rifle can reload itself and go back in battery, usually resulting in a jam or misfire.

They provide a simulation of FA fire, which in some cases can be a problem, as it gets attention. As I have mentioned in another context (dummy M14 selector), something may be legal, but you might spend time convincing ATF, the local cops, or a prosecutor of that, and meantime you may be "detained" for an investigation.

Now I get to brag. ;) This would be the next best thing to FA.

It does indeed fire one shot per trigger pull. However, an "action bar" translates a rotary crank motion into one that alternatly fires one barrel then the other in such a coordinated way, as to give continuous and repetitive directable fire. I can't wait!

Okay, MY dictionary defines it as "a large amount or number; lot."

It just sounded right in that context. Or, were you looking for an exact number? As for numbers, not even my wife knows.

I had a BMF activator years ago for use on a Ruger 10/22. It worked the way it was supposed to. You cranked it like you were reeling in a fish and it emptied you magazine like a machine gun. It was fun, but there was just no way to crank and aim at the same time. It got boring very fast. All that dust and nothing getting hit. Now that kit Anodes got looks like you could aim and crank. Might be fun for some serious can shooting.

I was out at a local shooting spot with my Ruger 77/22. There was a group of guys with SKS type rifles shooting at cans full of water at about 50 yards from a standing position. Bap,bap,bap,bap,bap...lots of noise and dust. I crank the bolt of my .22 and "Pop"...there goes a can.

There is nothing as satisfying as a hit.

All of these devices to enhance semi-auto action into simulating full auto are illegal in CA. And so is your mother-in-law.
